Anyone still have any of those near them? I personally cannot wait to move back to Ohio in the next two weeks. I grew up in Mansfield and Ontario and there's two Drive Ins in the area; the Springmill and Sunset. Apparently, Springmill just added a second screen so I was like; "Holy Cow!"

We used to have one in my town, but they tore it down last year. It's kind of a slummy one anyway, so I wasn't upset about it or anything. Plus it's kind of in a riff-raffy part of town. It was super-old and needed replacing — panels were falling off and stuff.
That said, I did like going to it on very rare occasions. |

Mansfield has the Jones' Potato Chip factory there. This chips are the best, hands down. I grew up on eating those.

I went to one a few times outside of Buffalo, NY, as a kid.
When driving home from NYC the other day, I stopped at a Dunkin Donuts, and reclined my chair back quite a ways, and thought "wow, this is pretty comfortable". It wasn't completely lying down, but it was leaning back way too far to actually drive in. So I thought it'd be nice to try out at a drive-in, to just relax and watch a movie... but that's not the point of going to a drive-in. |

They tore down the drive-in in my town down about 9 years ago. I really enjoyed going there as a kid, and saw all 4 of the "older" Batman movies there. Batman Returns opened on my 10th birthday so I had my party at the drive-in, which was pretty cheap because kids under 12 were free and you could bring your own food. The drive-in started going downhill in the late 90s, when they started showing movies that were a couple months old instead of showing brand new movies. Finally they tore down the theater and built more unnecessary apartment complexes.

There are two in my City(Ottawa, Canada) and they are great especially with the mrs!
The quality of them is --- meh --- but I find that about theatre experience too. The fun is to have the privacy, big screen and a bit of ol' time romance. Love them! |

We used to go to one in college in Poughkeepsie, NY (Hyde Park actually). I saw Alladin/Scent of a Woman double feature there. Who-a!

You can check here if you're not sure. There's only one near me, and it's been years since I've been to one. Remember seeing Star Wars, Jaws and Piranha at the drive-in when I was a kid. |

Yup...I was just going to mention the South Bay Drive-In in Imperial Beach, San Diego county. On a Friday or Saturday night you can see a triple feature for $7 each! Double features any other night are still a bargain.
And...you don't have to worry about the swine flu while sitting in your own car. |

In Baltimore we have Bengies Drive-In. However, they are fighting with a Royal Farms store regarding the lights at the gas satation interferring with the movies and Bengies Drive-In has talked about closing over it. That would suck.
