Default Friday the 13th blu has disappeared from Amazon

What the hell? Has it been discontinued or is this perhaps preparations for the supposed upcoming 8 movie blu ray set that's supposed to come out in the fall?

I remember reading something about TCM selling out of the first pressing of discs, and it might be a while before the stores get more. The studio made a relatively small amount of BDs for the first run.

Yeah I bet they just sold out. They probably underestimated how many horror fans are out there,

To me this is a great sign for horror fans like me. To have a horror movie sell out at retailers gives me hope for some other great horror movies from the '08s.

As already said, they probably underestimated sales. There was a sales chart in last weeks Home Media Magazine, and I was suprised to see how high up this BD was.

Well I bet the Remake(which I personally liked allot) will have more discs pressed. I am sure Amazon just underestimated demand. I have still seen this disc at Best Buy, Target, and Newbury comics.

Agree. I have seen some Paramount titles out of stock in Amazon, and this appears to be a case of demand exceeding Amazon's supply.

Being a day-and-date release, plenty of copies will be made. So of course it won't have that problem.

Really, I don't intend to buy since we supposedly have the box set coming out later this year, I just thought it was unusual that the thing just vanished off of Amazon completely.

As for the remake, it should not even come to blu-ray period. I went and saw this in theatres opening day. I have to be honest, it may well be the single worst movie I have ever seen. The only 2 movies I can think of that are close to being that bad are Big Fish and O Brother Where Art Thou.

I agree with you. I thought this remake was pretty good for what it was and I thought Big Fish was a great movie. On the flip side though everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

True, true, however, I personally (and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here) don't understand why people go into threads to comment on movies that they don't like. I understand if someone is asking for reviews, but otherwise, why bother? I don't bother reading about movies I don't like, if I wasted the time to see the movie in the first place, I don't see myself devoting more time to it to express an opinion that wasn't solicited for...
