Default Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D! Why isn't this on Blu?

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001K9OXEE/

Why isn't this being released on Blu? It seems pretty dumb on paramounts part. Obviously they are trying to cash in on the MBV3D thing. This is definitely not the best in the series but it wouldn't be neat to have a 3D title on Blu that didn't star Brendan Fraser.

I don't get Paramount. Why do they suck so much? Part 2 and 3 are on blu ray but only in the UK. Part 3 is in 3D but only on the US dvd. Lame.

This will be 3D on Blu-ray when it comes out on region A.

Based on my experience with The Polar Express in 3D, you're not really missing anything but a headache.

Seriously. As much as I'd like to be excited about 3-D technology, it's just not good enough to make me engrossed in what would otherwise be a mediocre movie... *cough*MyBloodyValentine*cough*

I do love Friday the 13th Part 3, but I don't think I can sit on my couch and watch all 90 minutes of it with BLU/RED 3-D Glasses on. I much prefer the clearer, less headache-inducing 2-D version.

The same goes for Jaws 3.

it wouldnt looks good at all since its impossible (for now) to replicate the same 3D technology used in the theaters for use on your home theather aka polarized 3D....your not missing much....watch Freddys Dead: The Final Nightmare and you'll know what I mean....good in the theaters, sh&t at home!

Actually, while you're right that Friday 3-D on video won't be anything like they way it was in theaters, and that Freddy's Dead on video is probably a close approximation of what it will look like, you're wrong about Freddy's Dead looking good in theaters. The theatrical version of that film used the same shitty red/blue anaglyph that the home video version uses (this was done so that the film could be shown in any movie theater). Friday 3-D, on the other hand, looked fantastic in theaters, but required specialized projection equipment which limited the theaters the film could be shown in.

I am pretty sure the elements required for a 3-D version of Part III are not even available. They were tossed out years ago or misplaced.

We still should get a blu ray release no matter what the print is like. But we should get a blu ray release for all the sequels the same day as the DVDs.

Keeping in mind that everyone's vision is different, I watched the new FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 DVD over the weekend and it is hands down the worst home video 3D that I've ever seen. The colors looked awful, even with the glasses on there was still two of every object, and the 3D effects were almost non-existent. After about 20 minutes, we switched to 2D because my wife and I both had headaches and were getting nauseous. I've never seen this one in 3D and I was really looking forward to it. What a disappointment. Speaking of Part 3, is Jason wearing khakis? That's not scary.

it is pretty dumb not releasing 1-3 on bluray in both the uk and us.

any uk online stores only have parts 2 and 3 for sale and blueray.

as for part 3 some made be please if they provided part 3 in 2d on bluray and included the 3d version on dvd.

also can any confirm if the uk version carry they same special features as the US eddtions of the dvds

I have heard the existing elements are simply not in any condition for a decent release. It will be interesting to see the Blu-ray of it that comes out in the U.K.

I am aware of that but often something that is good enough to release on dvd is in no condition to be released on Blu-ray. The studios are being very picky about what catalog titles are released on Blu-ray and only elements in good condition are even being considered at this point.

You're not missing much. Anaglyph (red and blue) 3D looks hideous and doesn't work very well. It's a shame there's nothing better that yet works with HDTVs—I have 'Friday the 13th Part 3' in field sequential (a shutter-glasses system that only works with NTSC) and the movie improves by leaps and bounds in 3D.

i found the blu-ray red/blue version of journey to the center of the earth worked really well. it's the first 3-d movie i've watched on TV that has looked good. i don't have shutters tho.
