Don Cheadle: Messiah or Myth? - Blu-ray Forum

Is Don Cheadle, the next great dramatic actor? His intensity, is it a benefit to his screen presence. Will he fall down the path of Jamie Foxx or succeed like Matt Damon. Is he the next BIG thing is my question.

I liked his roles in Crash and Reign Over Me (which I just saw the other night - good movie).

So what? So the guy is bored and he is wasting some time on here. I see that people are also responding to his threads. That is what happens here. Cut the guy some slack.

And for the record ... Cheadle is awesome and I think he will be a huge star soon.

Don Cheadle is a god and is the finest African american actor working today. Chitol Eijofor is close behind. Look for an Oscar win from both these guys within the next 10 years.
Cheadle has also been a god for a long time. Check out one of his first starring roles in the Earl the Goat Manigult story. Obviously his peformance in Boogie Nights and the underrated Out of Sight.

Don Cheadle is building himself an excellent and diverse body of work. He has great range as an actor imo.

But, with respect to Cheadle, I liked him before the Oceans movies. The awful accent bothered the crap out of me.

The guy to play Obama is not on the scene yet. The actor will have to be someone young with applied makeup to age him during the film. Cheadle will be too old to play Obama if Obama has 2 terms.

IMO, I think Cheadle is a great actor but he can not carry (on his own) a financially successful box office hit film or a franchise and is already too old and looks to old to be playing Tony Starks younger friend - Jim Rhodes.

Plus, the guy has no real on screen sex appeal or leading man stature for a love story. I think he is what they call a method actor.
