So you need 7.1 to take advantage of it, or does that work with 5.1 too. It said speakers above the display?!? Does that mean you need to reposition speakers. Cool idea, and April is when I'm planning on getting a new receiver but I dunno about this one or the Pioneer 1019. Hmm.

The two extra speakers would be in addition to your L/C/R up front. Yamaha has been doing this for a while and they matrix the center channel up to these to "raise" the dialogue up for folks w/ a front projector and low center channel.

I doubt it would make a difference if you were running 5.1 or 7.1, but if I was adding two speakers to a 5.1 setup they'd be going in the back of the room and not over my best two speakers.

Sounds like Yamaha's "presence" concept?

Oop, Another Dude beat me to it!
My CS1 is angled up to accomplish the same thing.

What's cool about it is that is great speaker placement for my living room. Can't do traditional 7.1 setup. But is this still lossless or not? That's my biggest question. Is it just a matrixing of TrueHD or something completely different?

Go easy if that's a dumb question. I'm still a noob at audio. LOL

I would do this if I could get some in-ceiling speakers that match my system and a receiver with all the advantages of an 805. I cannot do this the way I'd want since my projection screen goes to the ceiling and hanging speakers in front of the screen just aren't an option. I'd rather wait till discreet 11.2 comes out.
