Default Are all deleted scenes in 480i?

I was watching the deleted scenes to one of the Bourne movies the other day and noticed the quality was pretty horrible. After further inspection, I found that these were added to the disc in 480i.

Is it only the movie that we get in 1080p? Have any of you seen any deleted scenes or extras in high-def?

Most of the time. I haven't watched them yet, but I believe the Bolt deleted scenes are in full 1080p.

Some have them in 1080i (e.g. Transformers) which can still look incredible

Honeslty if it's in 480 I won't watch it

Its quite rare to find extras in HD on Blu-ray unless you buy Disney movies and the ones that do have the extras in HD are usually the 2 disc sets

Not sure why, guess they figure people don't care. I probably would but I don't watch special features enough to really lean one way or the other on this.

Depends on two things:

1) Which year was the movie made? Newer films are likely to be edited digitally using DIs, so the deleted scenes will be in 1080p (usually higher since footages are at 2K/4K resolution) because they were part of the rough assembly. Older films may have them in 480 VHS or Beta.

2) How much space is left on the disc? Even if the scenes are 1080, you can't cram it in without the space.

The deleted scenes on Identity are pretty much unwatchable.

I havent' watched the deleted scenes on the other 2.

A lot of deleted scenes that I have watched - on Blu-Ray and DVD alike - have been very raw. The footage definitely was not cleaned up to 480 or 1080. If the quality of the deleted scenese was horrible, then I would assume that it's raw footage. Even 480 doesn't look THAT bad.

Disney movies will generally have deleted scenes encoded at 1080p, and also Spiderwick Chronicles and other studios should now be doing them in HD. If not, then the movie's likely pretty old.
