Terminator: Salvation Ending Has Been Changed - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone who has been following this closely knows the ending was leaked over at Aint-It-Cool-News some time ago only to be denied the next day by McG. This is good news!

Was chatting to a friend from Warner Bros today - originally on a totally different topic ("The Green Lantern" - scouting in Australia) - who confirmed he'd seen the film and that there's been big changes to the film over the past few months.

Yep, don't expect to see any Hannibal Lecter-style action from the mysterious Marcus (Sam Worthington's silver-blooded character from the film) in the film when you catch it in May.

The third act of the film has been completely changed "because of the internet leak. The ending doesn't resemble the previous one in any shape or form". And more so, the new ending has tested quite well; it's gotten a much better reaction than the 'big reveal' in the script did.

Funnily enough, Seth Rogen (yes, that Seth Rogen!) was the first to tell me that Warner were considering changing the last act in the film because of the script leak. Rogen said that - via his friend at Warner - the WB were as red as Daredevil about the ending being spoilt online and had begun to rewrite the script. And that's exactly what they did. Its now, according to our friend on the inside, "A complete 360 from the original film. Works better. Probably not as hard to swallow. Real good though".

So there you have it. The ending of "Terminator Salvation" will be a surprise, after all (Please say it now ends with a T-800 being sent back in time to obliterate Mostow's "Rise of the Machines").

was JUST reading that...the internet has really helped hollywood in some ways and destroyed it in others. in this case it sounds like the new ending is much better tho

did you read about how the forbidden planet remake script had to be completely rewritten because of so many internet leaks? 1.5 yrs of one man's hard work gone. sucks.

From the sounds of it, the previous ending was filmed at some point. Hope they include it on the Blu-ray release

Can't wait to see this film in theatres though

I don't get these net leaks, If I were the writer of a movie, I would not show my stuff to NO ONE until it's done, then to the top studio executives only. Beyond that, if something is leaked, I say they want it to be, somehow.

I'm actually glad to hear this. If Salvation ended they way they planned to end it, it would have really affected Terminator 5 and 6.....in a bad way IMO. All these years we've seen John Connor be the leader he was meant to be, just to have him become

they've confused me beyond belief with all of these terminator movies and with what exactly happens. you think they stop judgment day in 2, but in 3 you find out they didn't...but 4 is supposedly ignoring 3 so did they really stop it in 2 and what we'll see is up to the point at which bale sends back a terminator to protect himself as a kid?? at which point the entire present day world will transform?? is anyone else following me here?

I don't think they are ignoring 3, considering everyone is exactly where they were in the beginning of T1 fighting the machines. So, Judgment Day did occur as was shown in T3.

ah, i thought i read somewhere that 4 was ignoring 3, thus why T4 was changed to Terminator Salvation and completely leaves out the 4 in the title. obviously i could be wrong tho...

Oh, and John's girlfriend in T3 is in this film so that is the biggest element of them not ignoring 3. lol.
