Terminator Salvation Action figures possibly spoil the ending of the movie - Blu-ray Forum

Seriously, STOP READING if you dont want to be spoiled. There will be no tags in this thread.

I was browsing my local toys R Us today and saw the new Terminator Salvation action figures. I picked through them and noticed a few things.

A: There are three different versions of the Marcus character.

B. He is in fact a terminator. (seen in the third theatrical trailer)

C. There is only one John Conner.

D. John Conners figure does not have a face. It is covered with a mask.

E. Conners figure is not listed on the back of any of the other figures. Only Marcus is.

Now here is where you ask the question "So what? What does that have to do anything?"

Well a few months back someone leaked that the ending would be that John Conner dies and that Marcus would put John's skin on his body, bringing the "what makes a man, a man" theme to a full circle.

They are subliminally preparing your children for this change, marketing Marcus Wright as the "cool figure" where as John is "that guy with the mask."

Recently I did a study and found that when kids play, they kill off the figure that has a mask/hood off first. So if your kid is playing with the Terminator figures, John would be the first to die.

Is this really the end for John Conner? We'll find out on May 21rst.

Huh, that would be incredibly odd, perhaps clever from a sci-fi perspective. But I don't think I would care for that ending much. I'm hoping he lives.

That does sound interisting. but perhaps a bit over zelous. I mean whi would they leak out an ending idea through toys. I don't know I mean I often think when they make movies they way they do do they do a film in a way that at a certian point or at th end of a movie it comes full circle to remind you hey rmember this at the beginniign of the first film this is what happend and why. Sort of like the cube movies. You do know what Im tlkaing about nthere right.

Oh, and 'Conner' is spelled 'Connor'.

As long as we're talking about Marcus there is something I don't understand from the trailer. Why is John so surprised to see him? I mean, he's seen terminator machines with human tissues come after him before....I just don't understand why the resistance captures and interrogates him? Is it the fact that he thinks he's human or that he's the first to escape from the machines?

You do realize that they would purposely say that right? They arent going to say "Yep! the rumors are true! thats how the movie ends!"

Although it COULD have been changed. We wont know till it's out.

What I don't understand is if this Terminator has the emotions and memories of a human who died and has been cybernetically "assimilated" then why did Skynet send back Arnold, the T-1000 and the TX-1 each of whom manifested the emotionless personality traits of a machine? If Skynet has the ability to integrate emotions and memories as well as replicate human tissues then why not send them back in the first place? They would make a far more efficient Infiltrator than the rubber-skinned 600 series or the 101 Arnold model.

Yes! Victory would be assured! Plus, it leaves room for sequels (I thought they were going to make two more movies after this anyway).
