My Gears Of War movie cast! Thoughts? - Blu-ray Forum

Well seeings how they are coming out with a Gears Of Wat film sometime in the near future, I went ahaead and did a little casting of who I think would be good fits for the 4 main characters! Let me know what you guys think!!

Gerard Butler as Marcus Fenix

Ving Rhames as Augustus Cole

Josh Duhamel as Damon Baird

Dwayne Johnson as Dominic Santiago

Well their you have it, I know The Rock was in Doom but they should at least cast him as Dominic so he can make up for it. Well let me know what you guys think!!

Pretty mainstream, but yeah looks good to me. I've never played the games but I've always wanted to get a 360. Hopefully they don't mess up the movie

your cast picks seems cool. except the first one with Gerard. don't get me wrong he is a good actor, but i would prefer to see someone else play Marcus.

Well thats good to hear lol yeah i was debating between gerard and bruce willis lol but I doubt anyone would wanna see him right?

Yeah you should at least try the games, theyre pretty amazing! I hope they dont screw up the movie!

Bruce actually fits the Character more. But what about Vin Diesel. He actually sounds like Marcus.

Haha yeah but if ANYONE should play him is should be Batista from the WWE lol he LOOKS EXACTLY like marcus and sounds like him too

Yeah thats true but vin is shorter lol but still with Batista all they would need to do is slap a bandana on his head, throw on the suit, and give him the gun and he will be set lol hes already buffed enough and his face is shaved like marcus

I just got done playing this game on insane...Ving Rhames would be awesome as Cole... not sure about the others though.

the game on the other hand is just mediocre, nothing special... I prefer Army of Two, story, characters and gameplay are better.

The moment you start throwing WWE people into a film the movie loses credibility. (check out John Cena's flicks, Stone Cold, Kane). The Rock doesnt count as he is no longer affiliated with them.

I dont like Ving Rhames for Cole just because he is too old and not big enough. And I am pretty sure it was a joke about Bruce Willis. Although there are Commander roles for more elder people that would apply to him.

The movies success will be based on the story, even if it feels like you are progressing through different stages of a video game. There has to be a concrete goal / mission. Not just going place to place and fighting some Locusts, then next time a different kind of Locusts or a Boss type enemy.

And, leave it open for a sequel. Get them to the end where they think they've gotten to their ultimate destination and won only to find out it is just the beginning of their troubles.

I hope there are plans for a 3rd game cause now I am all pumped.

This is being directed by Len Wiseman still, correct?

I always thought that Mickey Rourke would be perfect to play Marcus.

Besides that, I'm actually impressed with your casting list. I could easily imagine any of those actors doing their characters justice.

They should get a bunch of unknown football players for the roles. I mean each of the guys in Gears is a huge bulking meathead.

Please don't include The Rock.... the movie will automatically lose credibility. I think Mickey Rourke should play the great Marcus Fenix. Ryan Reynolds should play Baird and Terry Crews should play the Cole Train.

Plus the director already stated that they're not going to use the Rock for this movie because they don't want it to be compared to Doom in any way.

Gears of War 1 and 2 are my favorite games, so they better do it right. And this had better be a rated R movie because I don't want any watered down chainsaw scenes. I'm always up for some Horde mode if anyone wants to play or needs help with the Dark Corners achievements. My GT is my screen name.

But Cole isn't a serious character. He's always cracking jokes and getting excited about killing the Locusts. The guy who does his voice is Lester Speight.... AKA Terry Tate from the old Reebok commercials. That guy is def not serious.
