Default Stacking audio equipment help

I know it is not good to stack audio equipment right on top of each other. I need to take the shelf out of my audio cabinet to fit my new turntable. I need to stack a Denon 3808Ci Receiver, Panamax M5300-PM Line Protector, and a Blu-Ray Player Panasonic BD 30 (Oppo BD-83 when available). Any ideas or suggestions for equipment to stack the components inside the cabinet?

Thanks,

Joe

i would leave the receiver out of the mix. dont consider it. too heavy to be on top and you really need to keep the top open for ventilation. imo. if anything i would consider getting something else for your components since what you have isnt enough.

even though you didnt mention how much space is needed, can you possibly lower a shelf so things can still have thier own shelf? you can get shelf pegs pretty cheap and most people (if you dont someone you know does) have a drill and bits. correct size, leveling and depth would be too hard.

as mentioned, i would also reconsider stacking ANYTHING on top of the receiver. the vents are there for a reason, and not allowing the unit to dissipate heat would not only hinder its performance, but also cut short its life span.

i too would advise from doing the same for the panamax line protector. if ever, that would be on top. those can also get a tad hot, and may cause damage to your other components.

if all else fails, get some decent risers (some of em are made of rubber, id be cautious of them because they can melt of course)...

why not settle the turntable somewhere on top instead? or close to your audio rack?

I agree. Put turntable elsewhere, or get a different equipment stand with plenty of extra space.

If I could, I would put the turntable on the top of the rack that is most commonly done and how I am set up for my analog system.

I should have made my post clearer, I am trying to find the best solution using risers or preferably an equipment rack that I can put inside my cabinet. My cabinet has plenty of room for all of my equipment and the new turntable. However there are no other options all of my equipment needs to go in the cabinet. I need to take the shelf out of my cabinet to accommodate for the turntable height. I do not have any room to add another rack, or change the layout of my room.

I can't put the turntable on top of the cabinet because of the height, the table interferes with my Plasma mounted on the wall and the center channel.

I know this isn't ideal but it's what I have to work with.

then i would suggest making a shelf inside your current cabinet. put the shelfs where you need them. if the cabinet is wood, its real easy to do.

im sorry joe, i just find it wierd to find a turntable tucked inside a cabinet. its just me im sure. to no offense of course joe.

why are we moving the stuff around by the way? id rather have the turntable on top of the cabinet, towards the left side, then place the tivo (i think thats a tivo) inside. but then again if you watch a lot of tv, its going to be a nuisance to keep on opening the cabinet doors.

if we remove the shelf, what space does it create for the system? i mean, we can always try to put the panamax underneath the receiver, but we still have the panny on the right side. sort of the same thing in my opinion.

we can also consider stacking the panamax, then the panny, then his turntable on top of each other, leaving more than enough space for his receiver to breathe... but same thing tho.

can you place it on top of the tivo and swing it to the left area?

just a thought.

I totally agree with you I wanted to put the Tivo in the canbinet and the Turntable on top of the cabinet but it will not fit it is too high. I am getting a new turntable probably the VPI Classic and it is 10 inches high with the tone arm loop, that is why I can not put it on top of the cabinet it will cover the bottom of the tv, the whole center speaker and not allow me to swivel the tv.

can we move the tv higher?

seriously tho, at this point, i am at a loss my friend. unless you are
1. willing to get a new tv stand, that is lower and can conveniently house all your equipment.
2. keep the current turntable where it is. i see no use further for removing the shelve then end up putting everything to the right side. i find it moot in this case.

best wishes friend.

I am not willing to get a new stand or move the tv higher.

Please keep in mind that I am replacing the turntable in the picture with a new table that is much larger. I was thinking of adding some type of rack or shelving for the left side of the cabinent to fit the components.

How about removing shelf, put Panamax under the Denon, new turntable where old one is, Panasonic blu-ray player up top beside the Tivo( center the Tivo & Panasonic underneath your center channel speaker)
