My favorite live acts are at both ends of the musical spectrum. I would say it is a tie between Pantera and Nanci Griffith

I agree with Iron Maiden and Wierd Al, I've seen them both before, but hands down Queensryche with the Operation Mindcrime 1 & 2 was the best live act. They acted out both of the albums, and it was awesome! It also helped they are one of my favorite bands too.

I will give Rush a second place nod, they give an excellent performance, and so does Rob Zombie.

Porcupine Tree, Judas Priest, and KISS. I'm not a KISS fan but their live show is pretty insane.

Although I like him (he's not one of my faves though), I had the good fortune of seeing James Brown live several times. Without a doubt (to me) the most dynamic performer I have ever seen.

Phish in the mid-90's was HOT HOT HOT...... as were Widespread Panic

Grateful Dead was a great "atmosphere" but I only caught the tail-end of their shows.

Current favorite (although attending MANY upcoming Phish shows) would be Yonder Mountain String Band...... what an ass-kickin' good time.
