Default Labyrinth, Dark Crystal pre-orders

are now up on amazon. Anyone know when they will be released? There's no date on them. I've never seen Dark Crystal. I'm sure Labyrinth will look spectacular on blu-ray.

They don't have a release date yet but both are day one purchase for me...

If you liked Labyrinth you will probably love the Dark Crystal...

David Bowie's hair alone is reason enough to own Labyrinth.

do companies not know when certain movies like these and wizard of oz will be released, or do they want to keep the release dates a secret until a certain time?

Looking forward to both of these on blu...
even though I do believe I have purchased every edition for the home market since VHS.
Somehow, I can't help myself.

On EDIT:
looking forward to the sequel, The Power of the Dark Crystal, slated for 2011.

I can't wait for Dark Crystal on Blu-ray. I think it will look a little grainy, but that was always part of the charm. So that amazon listing isn't just a "first to know"?

That means its official, just no release date?

It's not official, meaning no press release has been made and the studio could change their plans. But yes, an actual pre-order being up where you can place an order means Amazon has gotten some kind of pre-announcement from the actual studio.

I have both on Superbit DVD, loved them when I was younger, have only watched them once or twice on DVD. I'll watch them again this weekend and decide if they're worth replacing.

I saw this in 35mm over at the AFI Silver last summer, and it had me baying for the eventual bluray release - one of my all time faves (and the sountrack as well).
