PREPARE FOR GLORY AS 300 MARCHES ONTO DVD JULY 31 FROM WARNER HOME VIDEO

Over $200 Million Box Office US!

Burbank, CA, May 30, 2007 – Get ready for a cutting-edge, heart-pounding, visual masterpiece on July 31st when 300 arrives on DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc from Warner Home Video. Based on the stylized graphic novel from icon Frank Miller (SinCity), 300 is an epic action-adventure about the 300 Spartan warriors led by the heroic King Leonidas who challenged Xerxes and his massive Persian army at the ancient Battle of Thermopylae. Facing insurmountable odds, they fought to the death to defend their honor and freedom, inspiring all of Greece to unite against the enemy.

From visionary filmmaker Zack Snyder (upcoming The Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead), 300 combines stunning live action with virtual backgrounds and features spectacular performances from Gerard Butler (The Phantom of the Opera, Reign of Fire), Lena Headey (The Brothers Grimm, The Cave) David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King) and Rodrigo Santoro (Love Actually, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle).

The 2-Disc Special Edition and hi-definition versions are loaded with over 90 minutes of thrilling extras, including additional scenes and revealing featurettes on the real-life Spartans. With the HD DVD Combo, experience the entire film with “blue screen” picture-in-picture running throughout the feature and special commentary by Zack Snyder, plus an exclusive strategy game “Vengeance and Valor.”

300 will be available on Single Disc at $28.98 SRP in both widescreen and full frame formats. The 2-Disc Special Edition DVD will be available in widescreen format for $34.99 SRP. The HD DVD Combo will be available at $39.99 SRP and the Blu-ray Disc version will be available at $34.99 SRP.

“An incredible visual ride.”
- Jeffrey Lyons, NBC’S REEL TALK

“Mind-blowing.”
- Susan Wloszcyna/USATODAY

Default 300 Blu-Ray gets short changed courtesy of WB

Well thanks to WB Blu-Ray will get less features on the 300 BD disc compared to the HD-DUD one. They are obviously getting the PIP why I personally don't care to much about. Also these features:

* PICK YOUR FAVORITE SCENES: Assemble Your Favorite Clips and Create Your Own Montage
* WEB-ENABLED FEATURES: Cool Mobile Downloads

I am getting sick and tired of the WB short changing BD movies and giving some of the extra goodies to the DUD. I wonder if some of you here feel the same way about WB? I sure hope they get their act together. BTW this info came from IGN and they listed these things that will be included in the BD release:

* The Blu-ray disc features the following special features:
* ADDITIONAL SCENES of the Traitorous Hunchback and Never-Before-Seen Giant Warriors [in High Definition]
* FRANK MILLER's Vision Realized on Film [in High Definition]
* 300 SPARTANS - FACT OR FICTION?: The Shocking Life of a Spartan Revealed [in High Definition]
* WHO WERE THE SPARTANS?: How the Actors Built Their Characters Based on Spartan Customs [in High Definition]
* WEBISODES: Go on Set with the Cast and Crew

If a large number of people feel this way - the best thing to do - is make ourselves heard. Letters, petitions - anything and everything should be done to make Warner and other Short-Change studios realize that the BD community will NOT accept sloppy seconds!

Unless that is done, there is no sense starting thread upon thread about WB and UNI

Frankly that is stuff I couldn't care less about; where BD is really getting short changed is when it gets the same low bitrate encode that they put on HD-DVD.

Default honestly I agree

As long as it doesn`t just a fugly hddvd port over/transfer i`ll take it ,just give me a good encode and sound and some features ,granted to quote another members sig" content is key", but am I gonna be watching another smaller screen when mad spartans are kicking persians and whoever else into the abyss I highly doubt it ,gimmie great picture and sound so I can hear it and feel it on the best format (being BD) and i`m happy ,granted being the best format it should have the best encode and the best sound ,especially on a movie of this magnatude!
anything less should definitely hear an angry voice from the masses

There ya go.

And when that happens, you get HD-DVD fanboys harping on you with stuff like: "How can you say that BD is the better format?" etc. etc.
