Anyone get this yet? Any thoughts? Should I stick with IE7?

I have the beta, I think it's pretty sweet. It looks better IMO and runs a little better.

At this point there are no real advantages to using Internet Explorer. I would recommend to everyone to try out Firefox or one of the other browsers available like Opera. Firefox extensions really make it powerful and indispensible to advanced users.

well skype wasnt, but it searched for an update to make it compatible and found one. Im not sure about Netflix. You can always revert to IE7 if it isnt?

I use Firefox exclusively for my own personal browsing, but I use IE for my HTPC. I agree mostly, though. I've never gotten into Opera, but I have used it and see what they're trying to do.

Yeah, I suppose that could be done. The new browser will likely only be used on my HTPC, as I've made the switch to Firefox for just about everything. I only rarely go with IE for anything anymore; usually it's for compatibility testing with web designs.

for each website you visit there is an option of a "compatibilty view". It is for websites that are designed for older browers (ie IE7) and it fixes problems such as out of place menus, images and text. I have visited several websites since i installed IE8 and I am seeing no problems!

does anyone know how to not show the history and favorites where your list of typed in websites are? and how to not have it so it has the red x by the typed in address so you dont delete it?
