Default The State!!! (on Blu?)

The entire series of The State from MTV is allegedly coming to DVD (finally). Has MTV released any series on Blu? Otherwise, I'd doubt THIS ONE would get Blu treatment, and I'll just buy the DVDs (blasphemy!).

I know there's MTV movies out, but any series???

By the way, if you don't know who The State is... just You Tube them.

Piece, Doc.

I'm fairly certain MTV hasn't released anything on Blu, and I can't imagine this would be released on Blu regardless. Nowhere near popular enough. Lot of funny people on it though (most of the Reno 911 cast).

They have not released anything outside of movies. No series from them are on blu. Don't expect this one either.

That's awesome!!!

Unfortunately, I'm sure due to licensing reasons, most (if not all) of the artist music will be removed, which may cause a few of the sketches to be deleted entirely. But at this point, I'll take it any way I can get it!

Thanks for the scoop Doctorsteve.

Hmmm, it's supposed to be every sketch (complete series). I'd hate to think they go 'Bevis and Butthead' and remove any sketch that include exo-recorded material. I can think of a few Doug sketches that would go away, possibly Capt. Monteray Jack as well...

I was referring to MTV's TV shows, and even those 2 listed are Fox movies, and on Napoleon Dynamite they just throw the MTV name on it (Office Space is not an MTV Films production).

I'm sure they'll just remix the soundtrack. Almost EVERY sketch had artist music as background music, just because it was MTV. A few sketches heavily relied on the music though, like the "Oh, no! I've got Slash!" sketch, etc. etc.

Again though, just glad I can finally throw away my 15 year old bootleg VHS tapes!

The good old days of MTV, when music actually mattered. Now it's an endless loop of The Hills and Real World/Road Rules Challenge, although they have started playing music early in the morning.

The State is my favorite skit show of all time. I still have a VHS tape recording that I put all the episodes on.

Would you believe that with the exception of Ray Bradbury's "The Electric Grandmother" and Emergency Broadcast Network's 'Commercial Entertainment Product' - my The State VHS tapes are the only VHS tapes I felt were worth saving from the garbage pile?
