You need to decide how fast yo want to get rid of it. Or if you ever want to get rid of it. I sell things on craig's list and look at electronics often, and I have seen some projection sets on their for 5 or 6 months. If you paid $1,500, then I would sell it for $200-$350. The lower, the faster it will move. It depends on how much money you need for your upgrade. Good luck. I would not leave it posted more than 2 weeks, people will try to beat your price down. Start out at a fair price and sell it fast.

My general rule for selling used electronics is to start with a price that is about 50% of what the most comparable new product sells for, and then begin to deduct for age, condition, features that are currently available that make this older device closer to obsoletion..... etc and so on. Generally I would think what is the most I would be willing to pay for this item and be prepared to drop from there depending upon how motivated you are to get it out of your house.
For comparison.... I sold my first HDTV a few years back. It was 42" Sony Grand Wega LCD rear projection. I paid right at $3,000 for it brand new. I'd had it for about three years. It had one DVI input and two component inputs.... and HDMI was well on it's way to becoming the standard by then.. so I had to take HUGE deductions for that. I sold it to a friend for $300. She's still using it to this day as far as I know so she got her money's worth. Here she is... I loved her so..... Last edited by Uniquely; 04-24-2009 at 11:22 PM. |
