Default Polk Audio TSi400

I have Polk Audio Monitor 50's. with a CS2 center, purchased about 1 month ago. Newegg has the TSI400 for $199, would I see much difference if I upgraded to them?

The TSi series replaced the monitor series. The 400 is essentially the same as the monitor 50s, but with a fancy piano black finish on top

You mean that the TSi400 is like the Monitor 60...TSi300 is like the Monitor 50. The TSi400 will give you more seperation and spread of the sound and will sound a little more brighter in cleaner in my opinion. So to answer your question...Yes you will notice the difference if you upgraded to them.

I think it will be the Monitor 60 or 70 if the price comes down. I have the 50s in maple, but when I upgrade it will be the cherry finish.

I disagree on a couple fronts. I don't think it'll sound any brighter since there's only an extra mid/woofer there, not a tweeter. Secondly, while it's capable of more output and lower end, I don't know that there's enough of a difference to justify the purchase. Personally I would hold out for the RTi line were I the OP.

You will notice a differnce You should listen to the 300's and 400's side by side Best Buy is a good place to do that. The bass response is considerably better and the sound is clearer at lower volumes.

Is this because the 300's and 400's are the newer version of the Polk Audio Monitor 50 & 60? I have a sub so do think the bass will matter that much.

The only thing you are gaining is one driver in each speaker, which equates in a little better low end response. Not worth the upgrade to me. If you are thinking of upgrading, I would look at the RTi line or a different manufacturer.

If you don't plan on upgrading your center anytime soon, I would say save your money for a more substantial upgrade.

I have TSi's all the way around for a recent setup & im very pleased with the quality and sound from them. I love the piano black finish on top to, it matches my other gear nicely. If you want RTi's id just step up to a different brand. The RTi's are really nice though.

I can vouch for the RTi line. They sound incredible for both movies and music.

Thanks for replies, but I want to keep the CS2, so the only options I think are the 60s, 70, or the TSI's

All basically comes down to how much you want to spend (doesn't it always.) I like my T90e's (which are the equivalent of the TSi400's) and they are awesome, but the 400's are for $299 each on NewEgg. Of the one's you mention, I see that the 60's are on NewEgg for only $149.99 each (regularly $299.00 each), so that is 1/2 off! So, as far as a price point goes, you can't beat this deal! I would recommend the 60's based on this price and their performance.

By the way, I would keep my CS2 also...if I had one.
