Unhappy Comcast HD error (PLEASE HELP!)

I've been with Comcast for awhile and never have really had any problems with there Cable TV service however I have been having problems recently with a HD error. I am hoping someone knows the fix to this. Props to anyone who has input. Thanks.

Here is my error:

Do you have your HDMI running through your receiver? If so, it is probably an error with it. Either that, or try new cables. A bad cable can create handshake errors.

judging by the picture above. it looks like you still have picture, but are getting an error from either the tv or its a hand shake issue. do you still have audio? i am a supervisor for comcast and all the equipment we have do not give you error screens that look anything like that.

Were you trying to record television shows with a burner?
I don't think the cable company likes that very much.

is this screen only coming on when you go to hd channels or is it on all channels and do you still get your audio when this screen comes up?

If you are passing HDMI through a receiver, bypass the receiver and go straight into the TV instead. Maybe it's a compatibility issue with new Comcast firmware? If all else fails, use component outputs from your Comcast box.

Either somone has tampered with the box or its a signal issue. I would get right on the phone with Comcast.

I was thinking the same thing...why else would it say "compromised"?

I'm gonna go out and ask...so you or someone else didnt do anything with it before this happened? It sounds serious judging by what MTBKR said about Comcast not having those error screens. Hope someone has better info on it to help you out. Keep us posted.

I didnt get any of this until i switched boxes. Any it only happens once every 2 or 3 days. All i have to do is turn the TV off and then power backl on and then its no longer there.

well there is your answer. the tv is having hand shake issue. this error screen is not coming from the box, its from your tv. if you have to reset your tv then its your tv. if you had to reset the cable box then that would be the answer. try running through component and see if there is still an issue.

do some basic trouble shooting. see if the same hdmi does the same thing on your dvd player, does it do it no matter what hdmi input it is in, if it was a signal issue than it would say the same thing if it was using component. if this does not work then i do know a little trick to make sure your hdmi setting are all good with the cable box.

Default HDCP is the DEVIL

CasualKiller is right with the link he posted. I've been installing these boxes for about 5 years now, and the issue isn't really Comcast.. The error is a HDCP violation due to an HDMI incompatablity with Motorola HD boxes... I've spoke to them more than once about this and most of the newer DCH model boxes don't have this issue as they have current firmware that is compatible, where as most of the DCT boxes are iffy using older firmware that is extreamly pick about repeaters.. IE Recievers, Switchers or Extenders. more than likely the easiest solution is to have the box replaced with any of the following boxes that are pretty much problem free. DCH-3200, 6200, 3412, 3416, 6412, or 6416. I myself had this issue about 2 years ago with a Motorola box. Hope this helps somewhat.
