ps3 vs pc blu ray drive and powerdvd - Blu-ray Forum

i managed to compare a ps3 against my blu ray pc drive (pioneer 202) with powerdvd.

picture qualitywise the pc build is better, with much less compression artifacts.

the ps3 ist definitely not all of what it is hailed to be.

the ps3's exhaust fan also put me off. (for the record my htpc is silent)

I prefer my PC setup over my Pioneer + video processor. PC picture quality is awesome. Audio setup is better on Pioneer player though, my PC. Is limited, but still decent.

yes audio is still an issue on the pc side of things.

it should get better when hdmi 1.3 is standard on most video cards.
