Default G-10 help on aspect raito ?

Is there anyway to manually set the display to 16:9 ? My old Plsama HP 42" i could set it to 16:9 and the picture was alway display'ed full screen , the Panasonic does alot of 16: 9 But some of the TV shows are going to 4:3 with Croped black bars on the sides. Now We just added Direct TV HD programing, I have tried setting it to Native settings and choose 16:9 in the menu,is it the stalie recv? any help would be greatful. Thanks for your time. jeff

YES. But no the strecth mode , that looks really bad, Like it to be full screen , not 4:3 in the middle of the TV, , now this is a HD channel displaying a 4:3 image,

the aspect ratio is also adjustable in the sat box, so if your having problems, look there.

If there is only pillarboxing, it's supposed to be in 4:3.

If the show is broadcast in 4:3 the only way to get 16:9 is stretching it. Your tv cannot change the broadcasted aspect ratio.

I have the same tv btw.

This is what I figured,Thanks man , for the info , I thought it would of done it like in a auto mode so I don't have to set it for every different channel, The Direct tv guy just called also he said the same thing, Also they only had a H-20 reciver its silver ( looks gross ) We wanted the H-21 which is Black , so he has to order me one, cant wait for that . any ways thanks for sll the help everyone, jeff
