Firmware Question - Blu-ray Forum

I have just bought a Dmp Bd35 and i'm new to blu-ray i'm not going to connect my blu-ray to a computer at all just a HDTV and a Receiver so do i still need firmware.

I just want to watch movies like i did with the standard dvd's.

It's always a good thing to keep your Blu-ray player up-to-date on the firmware because some movies require a newer firmware to be able to be played. Also it could help fix issues if a certain movie has problems playing on Blu-ray players.
