New Reviewer - Mr. Jeffrey Kauffman - Blu-ray Forum

Blu-ray.com is pleased to welcome Mr. Jeffrey Kauffman to its review panel!

Jeff is a professional musician, composer and writer living in Portland, Oregon. He splits his musical activities between the jazz, classical and theater worlds. As a writer, Jeff was the theater, film and music critic for the Daily Utah Chronicle, and he has continued to have freelance reviews published in such magazines as The Sondheim Review and, prior to joining Blu-ray.com, for several other online review sites. Jeff is well known in classic film circles for his internationally recognized and lauded research on Golden Era actress Frances Farmer. Jeff's Farmer research has been used as source material for several broadcasts on television and radio (including A&E's Biography of Farmer), as well as numerous books, magazine features and newspaper articles.

Jeff will be assisting us with coverage for music and independent Blu-ray releases.

Welcome to the forum! As a reviewer, do not be afraid to give discs a bad review if that is what they merit. Some reviewers on here have been attacked when they criticize a BD by fans of the movie. Good luck.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and thank you for the advance confidence in my abilities, which I hope not to completely disappoint.

I'm still getting to know this site (lots to get to know!), but I think with a little help my first reviews should be up and running sometime next week.

Welcome, Jeffrey!!! As a big opera fan on DVD and Blu, I'm happy that there'll be more coverage of this art form on our favorite format. I've read your Blu opera reviews on the 'other' DVD/BD site you contributed to, and I look forward to reading more here. Might we finally get some reviews of the operas released on Decca and DG? (I've got most of them, and they are, by and large, fantastic.)
