Question Powerbar Question

My friend bought a new TV today and the BestBuy, he picked up the Samsung LNT3242H. The salesman said that we had to buy a power bar that has voltage correction. Apparantly the voltage out of the wall fluctuates and is detrimental to the TV. I was just wondering if a "Power Cleaner" in a power bar is necessary, and if it is actually harmful to your tv without it.

We didn't buy a power bar yet because I was sure Monster is a f***** ripoff. I bought a 15$ HDMI Cable online at Monoprice.com that is better than the 299$ Monster one at Bestbuy. Even though I have a Monster power bar with surge protection(which I know is needed for sure), I was just wondering if a "Power Cleaning" power bar is required, and if anyone has them. Also if anyone knows a good site or place to pick up quality power bars please let me know.

Thanks

Out of all the things Monster makes, their Line conditioners/power bars with clean power are the one thing I whole heartedly reccomend.

Their speaker wire is also 2nd to none IMHO.

Check around, don't buy one from Best Buy, you can find better deals on the Internet, along with all other Monster Cable equipment. There is so much mark up on their stuff it is ridiculous!

I don't like buying much from best buy or circuit city anymore, some of their prices are ridiculous. Especially blu-ray prices. Kingdom of heaven was 40 bucks at CC yesterday....thats almost the price of a game. I went to wal-mart Bam they had it for 27 bucks....strange the huge difference in price

They have a bunch of different models. I refuse to give Monster any money because of how much they overcharge for their cables.

Here is a good site to check out and read up on power:
http://www.pureav.com/power/

This is the one I have:
http://catalog.belkin.com/pureav_det...duct_id=178925

Shop around and find a good price for whichever one you decide to get. I know I didn't pay what Belkin was asking. It's definitely saved me.

I had a salesman demo one of those monster power bars and there was video noise in the picture without it on and it was alot cleaner when routed thru the bar. Figure one day I might slurge on one.

I've got one of the Monster ones . . . I don't really know if it does anything though. I got it cheap through Monster's employee accommodations, so I figured it was good to have. I guess in the scheme of things, a couple hundred more to make sure you know you're getting the quality you paid for isn't that big of a deal.

for "hum bars" running up and down your screen I would recommend the Cable TV RF Isolator from Jensen

it helped me remove bars I had on my TV...
