Default Ocean's Movies Box Set or Individual (and cheaper)

Dear users,

So I'm going to be buying a couple box sets soon, including Pirates, Bourne and the Ocean's movies, but when I looked up the price of the movies individually, they were less than the boxed set. Is there any reason I should the boxed set over each of the movies individually? In general I like the idea of an all-in-one, but I'm looking at a $10 difference if I buy the movies individually through Third Parties versus the boxed set through a Third Party. However, I've only found one seller who has all three movies individually, and buying them through him I'm left with only a $5 difference between the boxed set and the movies separately. Does the boxed set have anything over the single movies?

Thanks,
-Brian

PS, this is my first post, but I expect to start adding my own review for my movies very soon.

As far as Pirates is concerned, they are exactly the same thing.
Except maybe the box set, you may not get the slip cover, which may or may not be a deal breaker for you.

And IMO? The Pirates box that housed the three BDs doesn't have a great design anyway.

I am also quite certain there is nothing extra with the Ocean's boxset.

No extra extras. Just three individual releases in a pretty thick, hard box. It's a nice box, but if you can save $10 or $5 on it, it might be more worthwhile to get them separately. I recently did that with the three "Resident Evil" movies.

PS: Good luck with your reviews!

Welcome to the Forum, brian. We will be looking forward to your future posts and reviews.

With some box sets(Harry Potter comes to mind)They have the DVD's in the very slim, thin plastic cases. These are easy to store but not very durable at all compared to the full size individual cases.
So I would choose the Individual Movies over the Box Sets if there is a difference in the Cases they are in.

Just for that reason I purchased all 5 Harry Potter Movies Individually. And I have all 3 of the Pirates Movies Individually, but that was because they were less expensive like that then buying the Box Set.

When it comes to the Bourne Trilogy the Box Set is your Only choice,as they arent available individually. But with the Oceans Movies I would personally choose whichever was the better price option(Though at one time I believe the Box Set was the Only Option to get 12 and 13)But that isnt the case any longer.

So,its a personal choice,as some people Love the Collectors Boxes and wouldnt dare think of buying them individually.
So if you want to start a Box Set Collection then that would be the Best choice to get the Ocean's Trilogy(in the Box Set).

But if slim cases and lower prices make a difference it may lead you in a different direction.

When it comes to the Oceans movie i'd say go with the cheaper individul relases, the box set was just the individual cases in a big box, no difference at all. I would up just throwing the box out

Thanks everyone, this is Exactly the response I was looking for. Nothing special, not even a quality designed box, means individual movies are in my future. As for Ocean's, it's box online doesn't look half bad, but before I make any decision, I'll check out these boxes in person in a retail store, then decide once and for all then.

Thanks again,
-Brian

The box that they come in as a trilogy is rather nice actually. It's just a perosnal preference as others have told you. Can't go wrong either way.

I got the "Ocean's Trilogy" brand new and factory sealed with Warner's Red2blu program for $9.95! Had bought the hd-dvd set on Half.com for 15.00, all Warner wants is the outer slipcover, so I went and sold the 3 -hd-dvd's on Ebay for 15.00,total for all 3 .After final value seller fees and media mail shipping I made about $10.00 So I got the Trilogy on blu for like 15 bones, not bad!

Don't think the OP meant that the Bourne series was released individually but Oceans yes was sold individually but it's the same PQ and lossy AQ.
