Alright, I cant decide between the TC-P65S1 Panny or the TC-P58V10.
Im going for quality(BLU RAY AND GAMING) and SIZE!! The S1 is on sale for $2,599.99 and the V10 is $2,699.98 on BB Online. I like the S1 cause of the size and the V10 cause of the PQ. Does the S1 have the same PQ as the V10? What is the difference between the two? I think the smallest Ill go is 58". I have a 65" right now so thats what Im used to, but I dont think 7 inches is all that much of a difference. So please, any and all opinions welcome. THANKS TO ALL!! ![]() |

[QUOTE=kpkelley;2563436]the v10 is a significantly better tv, but I'd be hard pressed to recommend a tv under 60" for how far you are from your sitting area. If you can swing a larger v10 I would highly suggest that.[/QUOTEJ
Just measured!! When I mount the Panny, It will actually be 14ft away. DAMMN!! I didnt think it would be that far!! Sooo u think a 58" is out of the question? |

more config on the V10 vs the G10. THX mode...plus the 96hz feature works properly only on the V10 as far as i know. or maybe they don't have that feature on the G10. i know one of the other models that had it had FLICKER when turned on. its good for those 24p movies.
i liked the further control and 96hz...its worth it to me. |

I have the 50" G-10 awesome TV, But I wish I would of gone bigger at least to 54" or 58" , so really the bigger the better, as for the other things, I hear good on the V-10 But, it's a chunk of change , and right now Sears has the
54" S-1 on sale for I recall $990.. that a great price.. |

I would buy the V series even giving up the size difference but I watch a LOT of movies so the 96hz would be utilized. I currently sit about 13ft away from a 50" screen and have no issues. Do I wish the TV was bigger, of course, who doesn't wish their TV was bigger but the jump in price to get to a larger V series was way to much IMO.

600 Hz is the subfield drive which is different than the 96hz mode for watching 24p material. |

Yes the V10 is nice. but 65 inches is a lot bigger than 58 inches. A panasonic in general is already a great tv. I'd get the big one and not think twice about it with the size of your room there.
My brother recently bought a Kuro 5020 (50 inch tv) and wishes he'd gotten a 58 inch panasonic instead. Image quality is very important, but there's a point at which size is arguably more important. that 65 is going to look great in LARGE way. |

I myself wanted a larger set...58"-60" was what I was going for, but for the money I could afford to spend I would not have gotten the quality that I wanted. I compromised by going with the KRP-500M because picture quality was just too important to me. Yeah, I could have gotten a 58" Samsung or Panasonic for not much more, but the main reason I was upgrading was to get a better picture than what I already had.
I considered a 58" S1, but the blacks and the picture in general just didn't do it for me. I waited for the V10 to come out and it turned out to be more to my liking, but the price on the 58" was just too far out of reach, and at the time I could have easily found a KRP-600M for the same price so it didn't even make sense being that the V10 still isn't quite as good as a 9th Gen Pioneer. Size is important, but ask yourself if you want a gigantic mediocre picture or a large excellent picture. You're talking about an investment for the long haul. My advice is to find a dealer who still has the KRP-600M in stock...HERE's one for example and buy an extended warranty for it since a lot of these online sellers are not Pioneer authorized dealers, or you can order a 6020FD HERE from Best Buy which happens to be an authorized dealer. Both of these 60" options are $3500, and both are leagues ahead of the S1. They also best the V10 pretty handily though the V10 is the closest I've seen to Pioneer quality. If you absolutely want a 65" TV then you should hold out a little longer for the 65" V10. |
