USA receiver recommendations $3-400.

Looking to purchase a new AV receiver for between $300-400.Must have HDMI input-outputs, and pass through, etc,.Hoping for recommendations from prior your prior experiences. Thanks for the advice. Will only be driving 2 Klipsch RB-81's at first but will be adding a center soon.

Thanks for the advice.I like Yamaha's and own a couple already, including one RX-V465,but have a problem with its HDMI pass through changing my FIOS STB video rez from 1080i to 720 whenever I turn off the STB.I haven't been able to get this to stop happening.I see the RX-V665 yammy on sale online for $320. and up,I may try this one next. Thanks again.

Personally I prefer the 720p over 1080i, I would rather have the progressive picture then the interlaced. I don't know anything about FIOS though.

On another note, you have both Klipsch bookshelfs and Energy Bookshelfs... do you prefer one of the other?.. and where do you watch TV more... the Den or the Living room?

I know they are completely different sounding speakers so just wondering if you have a preference.

I spend more time in the Den.Its a small room,so I don't have room for alot of speaker.Just let me say the Energy C-100's are truly large speakers despite their small size.Excellent sound.I've had them for 9 months so they are probably just finished breaking in but I'm very impressed with them.I will be adding the matching center as soon as I can.
The Klipsch's on the other hand,I've had for about 1 month, and are at least twice the size and cost me 5 times what I paid for the Energy's.I got the C-100s for $99.a pair and the RB-81's for about $600.,both from Vann's.
Klipsch's are in a much larger room and definitely fill it with wonderful sound.I need more time with these for sure.
Whew,,,I'm very happy with both and really can't choose one over the other,I love both sets.Very impressed with the Energy's and got just what I expected with the Klipsch's so far=great sounding speakers.
BTW, I just ordered the Yamaha RX-V665 so I'm waiting...
Sorry for being long winded and thanks again for your input..

Thumbs down HDMI passthrough

NO !!!!!!! You DO NOT want HDMI passthrough. You want HDMI SWITCHING !!!!!! Passthrough means that the HDMI does NOT carry the audio, and you must use a separate digital audio cable with it, which severly limits which audio formats you can use.
OK, I see you ordered the Yammy 665. You should be fine with that, but for anyone else considering a new receiver, you want HDMI SWITCHING !!!!

I have the C-100s too and use them as surrounds with my Energy towers. I like them, I have hooked them up as fronts and they sounded very good. I got mine at vanns too... same price.

Congrats on the new yammy....
