Redbook cd in Oppo

I have what might be a dumb question but, how come when i put a redbook cd in my Oppo it plays in 5.1? Also ,when i play through my cdp the subs don`t come into play. I thought a redbook would only play in 2 channel.

you have to check the audio settings for your setup.
1. are you connected using the multichannels?
2. hdmi?

if so, youd have to set this in their audio section. (i think the general area tho)...

Hey jomari, i didn`think a redbook would even play in multichannel. Kind of a nice sound

hihihi! i gotcha! well, after remembering my settings on my old oppo, you can actually let the DACs allow it to play stereo material in 5.1 via the er.. i think the downmixing option.
