Default Movies Are Too Long To Watch?

Greetings,

My problem is that I avoid watching movies because it just seems so daunting for me to sit down and continuously watch a new movie that's 2 hours in length.

This is the first time I'm trying to get help with this problem even though I've had it for a LONG time.

I have no problem watching new Youtube videos as these are shorter than 10minutes in length so it's just a problem when I want to watch long videos.

Thanks for any advice.

Without knowing exactly why you're having this problem, maybe consider:
  • Try splitting a movie up into parts. Watch one hour one day, the last half the next.
  • If a movie of any length is "daunting," then it must not interest you enough to keep you engaged the whole way. Stick with genres, styles, directors, etc. you know you love. I know I could watch a James Cameron or Paul Verhoeven film for hours on end, but two minutes of Tarkovsky might drive me nuts.
  • Maybe, stick with 90 minutes or less? There's tons of shorter films out there, and they're usually good.

Aren't you that troll that had eye-sight problems watching movies on iPad-mini?

If you don't want to watch a movie in its entirety in one sitting, then don't. Like, what exactly is the question here? If you're having problems focusing, consult a doctor for potential treatment. Blu-ray.com can't help you in any way that you couldn't already help yourself.

^ That. If you have ADHD that impacts your abilities in daily life then seek out a mental health care professional. If you don't enjoy watching movies, then just don't and don't bother with this forum.

You can't focus on something for 2 hours? That's a serious problem and you definitely need to seek professional medical or psychological treatment not advice from bluray.com forum members.

Whether he is a troll or not.... I will respond with a legit response....

If you can't sit down for 2 to 3 hours and focus on only one thing, then you have a serious issue.

As others have already said, get a doctor.

Or get a life if you're just trolling.

Go to a doctor and get help for attention deficit disorder. Or, watch the movies in parts. Or, don't watch the movies. Or just watch YouTube videos or cartoon shorts. Do you play a lot of video games? Do you eat a lot of sugar and/or other carbohydrates? If so, it's not surprising that you have ADD. Stop.

And you know what? We don't really care. What would you expect us to do for you? Frankly, I think you're either trolling or quite silly.

I'd think the movie alone would interest you enough to keep you attached, time length be darned. I could watch a movie start to finish if it was entertaining enough to keep me involved. I watch the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit extended cuts once every year or two and that's about maybe 20+ hours of material. But I indulge here and there so it doesn't feel terrible and I don't mean to divulge 20+ hours in a single day to a movie marathon.

I would say you're not cut out for full length movies.

I, on the other hand, watch movies so long glued to the seat that I end up soiling my pants. It has happened to me more recently, and 3-4 times last month alone!

Do you have any advice OP?

Thank you in advance

Strap yourself into a chair and watch all six Middle-Earth extended editions back-to-back. You'll be right as rain in no time.
