I saw the film and really liked it. Anyone here own the disc and can give me a thumbs up or down?

hello all,

loved the film, but hated the ending. very good sound if you are into ambiance and not boom-boom.

I half agree with your statement. Yes, the soundtrack is great because it has plenty of atmosphere but I can't say I agree with your statement about it not having "boom-boom". I can tell you right now that any exterior shot including the ship has some of the best LFE content I've heard. It's not constant like Terminator Salvation's battle scenes or an assault on the senses like the plane scene in Knowing, but Sunshine has some extremely solid low end rumble to it.

It also has some of the best examples of clean, crisp colours I've seen. The vegetation in the hydroponic room is such a lush green and the golden hues of the sun and the reflective surfaces of the ship are very pure.

Add all this to a great story (I for one like the ending, even if it is a bit from left field) and some solid acting under the direction of Danny Boyle and you've got yourself a great experience on Blu-ray.

The Blu-ray look's amazing, if you enjoy the movie enough to see it again then go ahead and buy it, it's worth it

The movie's pretty great on Blu-ray. The PQ and AQ are top-notch, the score just gives me chills, and the supplements are quite exceptional for a Profile 1.1 launch title.

Sunshine is fantastic-PQ and AQ amazing quality & I found it to be beautifully visually & philosophically. Very good non-traditional Sci-Fi flick-go Danny Boyle!

I must say this is one of the best sci-fi films i have seen in the last 5 years. Came out of nowhere and totally blew me away. Sure, some dislike the ending, but i think it was great! I would recommend this film to ANY sci-fi fan and movie fan for that matter.

Definitely get it! The disc looks and sounds great and gets consistently good reviews around the web including here. It's one of my most rewatched sci-fi BDs.

Also, since you like Sunshine I highly recommend Moon. You won't be disappointed.
