Most likely my favorite recent Sci Fi movie, and I am really looking to get it on Blu Ray...how is it?

I watched the blu-ray and thought it was great! I thought the movie was pretty good, but reminded me too much of Event Horizon.

I figured it would be good since the effects are nuts

I thought it looked very stunning. The end of the movie ddidn't live up to the looks though, in my opinion. A shame.

Picture quality was good but couldn't finish watching because it wasn't my type of movie.

+1. It really does look a lot better on Blu-ray. My wife talked me into renting it on demand before I bought the blu-ray. Good movie either way though.

I want this one. I saw at the movies for free, as a special screen, as it was a limited release and few people know about it.

imo - still believe this to be one of the finest sci-fi movies made... completely underrated... and the Blu is one of the few that I actually didn't mind spending the ridiculous $29.99 on.

The PQ and SQ is great on the blu-ray version (haven't watched the DVD).

I love the movie aside from the direction it went towars the end (kind of Even Horizonish). I'd just rather they stuck to sci-fi the entire time and not switch to somewhat horror. I love Event Horizon by the way

Funny thing is I'm listening to the soundtrack at work as I typed this

Of all the movies I've reviewed, this remains one of my absolute favorites. A must-own, in my opinion.

Of the many movies I have seen, this still remains in my bottom five of all time. I really hated this movie. I will trade it for nearly anything I don't have.

Although I do like the premise itself, the cast, writer, director, composer and certain elements/scenes I was in the end very disappointed with "Sunshine." I just wasn't particularly satisfied by most of it.

Man, where's a copy of 2003 Hulk or Indy Jones Crystal Skull when you need one. Sunshine is 1,000,000 times the movies either of those snoozes are IMO.

Hey Crim,

Saw you in another thread. Welcome aboard the Blu wagon and the forum.

While we are discussing opinions here, I am like the others who thought Sunshine was a great film. It had an interesting premise that got me thinking, a very good look to it, a thriller type of atmosphere that gets more pronounced as it went on. I'm also starting to believe that Rose Byrne is a very good actress after seeing her in this film as well as the FX series "Damages" which is also available on Blu. I also thought Danny Boyle did a great job directing what had to have been one of his first if not his first Sci-Fi flick. He kept the tensions of a Shallow Grave or 28 Days Later type film and incorporated them into a Sci-Fi mission to the sun.

Good to see a new blu dude. I'm new to these forums as well. I'll discuss any film I've seen individually but any film that I think is horrific often get compared to 2003 Hulk, Indy Crystal Skull, Superman Returns, and the three most recent Star Wars films because they were just so bad. Just an FYI about me if you cared. One thing that is great about these forums though is that for every insult I can hurl at these films, there is someone else who liked them or even loved them and that diversity of opinion makes this site a daily visit for me.

I just got Sunshine for free with the weekend Amazon sale. I love this movie and glad to finally own the Blu-ray version for a decent price.
