Default Blue Thunder

Just out of curiosity, has anyone actually seen this available in any retail store? After trying Best Buy, F.Y.E., Barnes & Noble, Borders and a few smaller places I finally ordered it from Amazon. Are there going to be releases that are available only on-line?

I got my copy at Best Buy about two weeks after it's release, but haven't seen it there since. Its definitely worth hunting down. I just watched it in honor of the writer, Dan 'O Bannon, who passed away last week.

I checked Best Buy on Blue Thunder's original due date. Was told "Best Buy is not carrying it in this district." I go there every Tuesday, and they have had some of the same titles sitting there for months (unsold deluxe editions of Casablanca etc.) and tons of blockbuster titles but they skimp on catalog titles - they never got Trainspotting either, which I believe came out the same day.

Default Blue Thunder: missing scene and added music!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

From IMDB:

"Just got the Blu-ray edition and noticed changes to the soundtrack. Like when Murphy tries to dodge Cochrane by banking behind the smokestack, music was added for some reason. I prefer the original way without music as at that point the action alone suspends you."

"The part where Cochran tells the control tower "thank you" when they deny him permission to take off but he does anyway is missing!"

Please, please, please, tell me it's just a dream gone bad!

I'm just reporting these two posts from IMDB. God only knows how much I love this movie. Too bad, they even got the PQ stellar but did those two mistakes! Hopefully, the posters are wrong.

I just took a look at the BD, and can confirm that Malcolm McDowell has no line when he takes off after Roy Scheider. And yes, there is music playing when the Blue Thunder ducks behind the industrial smokestack McDowell shoots up with his machine guns.

I don't remember BLUE THUNDER well enough from theaters or VHS (never had the DVD) to tell you if these are "changes" or not.

What I can tell you is BLUE THUNDER looks and sounds amazing on bluray -- the PQ is damn near perfect. I wouldn't trade this version for the world.

Yes, synth instrumental -- it sounds like the rest of the score. Very normal, and didn't stand out at all -- just seemed like a regular part of the scene.
