Site loading extremely slow / timing out - Blu-ray Forum

Since late last week this site has been loading extremely slow for me, with lots of timeouts and "internal server error" pages, to the point where the site is almost unusable for me, both opening new pages and posting. I've got no such issues with any other website and I have fiber internet. All pages are having this issue. A few pages load okay but then it stalls out again. I saw somebody else mention this the other day in another thread as well.

In general I often have issues with this site and only this site. But since last week it's been really bad. 15-30 second delays are common per page. Sometimes I just get a blank "internal server error" page and have to reload a couple times.

Can anyone shed some light on what's going on here?

Loads of people on line, servers can’t handle the traffic is my guess. Currently, 1500 members online but 6200 guests.

Forum has been this way a lot recently.

It's been horrendously slow for me as well the last couple of days. Rest of the internet works just fine.

It's getting worse. Pages are taking like 30+ seconds to load now.

Just came in here to say the same, it slows to a grind every now and then, and this is the only site I have this issue with.

It got worse with the news that Disney is releasing some Disney+ shows on physical media.

Thank you for reporting. A lot of visitors plus a lot of background jobs that arbitrarily happened to run simultaneously were/are creating some database problems. We are looking into it.

Edit: found and fixed a caching problem on the front page.

Took me over a minute just to load up this thread. It has been slow all day but I don't think I had any issues before today.

Edit: it seems to be getting better now though.

What happened to this site? Seems that more often than not lately it takes forever to load if it even loads at all.

Very glad to see this thread started, and that others have been experiencing the same thing (the forum especially, pages taking what seems like ages loading up and appearing). I know one or two others had noticed the same problem. Glad that the matter has been looked into/is being looked into.

Thanks to everyone for adding their experience to the thread. Glad to hear it's been looked into. The site seems to be loading much better for me this evening.
