Oscar Winner and screen legend Joan Crawford stars in 1970’s campy monster madness TROG—on Blu-ray for the first time on December 21st!
Trog is short for a prehistoric part man, part monster cave dweller known as the troglodyte. To a determined anthropologist (Crawford), he's the scientific discovery of the age. To others, he's walking death after local resident Sam Murdock (Michael Gough) prods the brute into a blind rampage.
This was Crawford’s final film in her career after recently starring in several other horror films such as Strait-jacket and I Saw What You Did.

I own the digital copy on VUDU. It's an entertaining look at the fall of the legendary Joan Crawford in her final performance in a very low-budget B-Grade film. It has its moments, but it will never be considered a classic by any means. I'm surprised this is even getting released.

I have to say despite a fun prologue this one kinda left me cold when I watched it on the Criterion Channel last year, but I'm excited for those of you who are excited about Trog or adding to your Joan Crawford Collections :P

What I like about it is Crawford gave it her all with this preposterous material, as much as she did in such masterpieces as Mildred Pierce. A true professional.

Warner Bros. tacked this onto Hammer's Taste The Blood of Dracula to make a double bill in the U.S. Hammer threw a fit over it. They considered Trog trash.

Great news. I have this on DVD in the Warner "Cult Camp Classics: Women in Perl" set. I'd like to see The Big Cube (also in the set) with Lana Turner to get a Blu-ray upgrade as well—it's great, sleazy fun.

I have the DVD, but I haven't watched it. I recall enjoying the movie twice on TV in the 70s when I was a kid. I might be wrong, but I think there is a meat hook scene in it. I'll be getting the bluray.
