Default Welcome to the Punch - July 23, 2013

Welcome to the Punch Blu-ray
Welcome to the Punch Pre-order

Quote:
MPI Home Video and IFC Films will bring to Blu-ray director Eran Creevy's action thriller Welcome to the Punch (2013), starring James McAvoy, David Morrissey, Mark Strong, and Peter Mullan. The film, which is executive produced by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Prometheus), will be available for purchase online and in stores across the nation on July 23rd.

The second feature from acclaimed British music video director and filmmaker Eran Creevy, Welcome to the Punch is the story of two arch-nemeses: detective Max Lewinsky (McAvoy, X-Men: First Class) and master criminal Jacob Sternwood (Strong Zero Dark Thirty). When Sternwood escaped three years ago after a daring robbery, Max was left emotionally and physically scarred. But after Sternwood's son turns up in a hospital due to a failed heist, he's forced to return to London – giving Max his second chance to get the one criminal who got away. Yet as Max delves deeper into the case he uncovers a vast conspiracy.

Special Features:
  • Making of Featurette
  • Cast and Crew Interviews
  • Original Trailer

I copy and pasted what I used for my previous thread and that happened to be it. It's fixed now.

I saw this a few days ago and really liked it. Bought it at Best Buy for $10 on blu-ray last night and somehow walked out with 'Predator' on blu-ray instead. Have to go back in today to make an exchange, even though she charged me for the former.

How does that even happen?

I didn't think too much of the story, but Strong and McAvoy are good enough to justify a viewing.

At this $9.99 price point, I'd give it a nod.

I watched it last night and liked it.
My expectations were pretty high because of the critic comments on the cover, so was let down just a bit. It was good, just not Heat or The Departed good. I'll probably watch it again in a couple months.
