Default Did u even care about studios before all this?

Before this format "war", did you even care about what studio had what movie?

Just now, I looked up the movie 'Eastern Promises'; it was Focus Features; I went on their site, dug around, and found out it was Universal. So naturaly i mumbled a swear and clicked out of the site.

After seeing a commercial for a potentialy cool movie, i find myself having to rewind my dvr to see what studio this movie is tied with.

and if i see a universal of paramount logo before it i immediatley tune out.

This is making me NUTS!

anybody else feel the same?

i know exactly what you mean, unfortunatly some of my favorite movies of all-time are universal movies (Back to the Future, Fear and Loathing, Scarface), but until I bought into Blu-Ray, I couldn't have told you what studio released them.

I agree, even worse is now trying to find out about which studio owns the rights to movies overseas to see if I can import it for Blu ray. I really never had to or cared to know that info.

Yup, I actually started looking at these things shortly after I started reading things on here (before I was even a member). Sorta like the other day, when I saw the Heartbreak Kid, I was laughing, then I saw which company was putting it out, everytime the commercial is shown now, I just turn to something else.

I paid some attention. Not as much as I do now though, but I'd pay attention for DVD releases. For instance, Universal has typically put out shit quality DVD's, so if I saw that logo, I knew I was in for a disappointment come DVD time. But, certainly it has become more of a consideration now.

Yes I have been caught up with which studio owns what. I am really happy LOST is on Disney's list. But how I wish I could get Heroes on blu.

Thank god Fox's own's 24 and X-Files but they can't seem to get they're ass of the starting line.

By the way Disney "Alias" was a really great show how about putting it on blu!!

I never cared before, it was either tape or DVD. I was around for the old Beta vs. VHS days but I was too young to care. It's funny that you ask the question because I could have cared less about who made a movie before, before blu that is. Now I could tell you pretty much what studio made what movie in my DVD and Blu collection, and new movies that come out now. That way I can decide whether I should anticipate it's release on Blu or not.

Before this?? I only cared about where Disney and Sony (not the movie, but PS3) went. apparently both goes BD, and that makes my life easier, because that format has more capacity and bitrate.

Yeah ive been a movie nut case and always looked to see who was releasing what, always seemed to hate Paramount though for some reason, and the whole thing lately just reinforced it.

well i got my ps3 and started with a few movies. The more I bought the more I cared about who has what.
I pay a lot of attention to exclusives now, Imdb.com has helped me a bunch finding out who has what.
