Default Firmware update needed for Sammy 1200 for Fantastic 4 - Surfer

I have a Samsung BDP-1200 and it will not play Fantastic 4 / Surfer due to the firmware not being up to date. I proceeded to install the most current version but there needs to be a second firmware update in order for the movie to work properly. Spoke with Samsung Tier 2 Tech Support yesterday and they assured me they were working on it. I hope that this is not going to be a constant problem with future releases, seems as though the studios should pick a standard format that works with current player firmware and stick with that. What about the people who own BluRay players that are not tech savvy and have no idea how to download and install the new software for the player, have to feel for them, especially after the money they spent on the player and the movies....

Well, I think in another year or so firmware updates are going to be a lot fewer and far between, simply because most of the bugs will be ironed out

Yeah, just look how they stopped making PC software above version 3.0.

Just busting man. I agree, there comes a point of no return when you can fit just so much in the memory space and provide just so many new features. I wouldn't mind some firmware updates for my regular DVD player. Could it hurt to check? Hmmm.

I love firmware updates. Always makes me feel like I did something good for my item. Today I feel like I have a new blu-ray player because of the Sony 2.60 firmware update.

If it's BD+ that's causing all the problems, this should have been resolved before the movies were released. C'mon Samsung, get with the program!!
