Anybody,
I have Samsung BDP1200 and I'm trying to install firmware vs 2.4 via ethernet. I have Comcast cable. I took the Lan cable from the PC and plugged into the back of the player with the other end connected to the router. The player says network not properly set up. I go to network setup and it asks for IP address. There are 12 spaces. My IP address is only 10 digits with three dots. Are the dots part of the address? If so how do you account for them on the player there is no choice for dots just numbers. Once that is entered correctly there is a space for Primary DNS below. Does that need to be filled in also. Samsung manual is worthless. I feel like an idiot, this is really frustrating. I may just run down to WalMart and buy a PS3. |

In the network Setup page, turn DHCP to ON
Select DNS: Automatic Turn the player back off then back on and check to see if the settings stayed the same. If they did, try to upgrade and see what happens. If that does not work, set DNS to whatever your router requires (ie: Linksys = 192.168.1.1, which would be 192.168.001.001) You can get your numbers by doing the following: Enter your router setup page (for Linksys, open web browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the web address line, userid is blank, password is admin) and tab through until you find the setup that gives you it's IP address and subnet mask) Turn the player off and back on and see if you can upgrade again. If not, burning to CD is probably your best bet. |
