United Kingdom Dumbo: The UK and European Releases

I'm psyched! Dumbo is one of my favorite animation films and judging by the early reviews, this is going to be one fantastic release! A nice balance of great extras and fantastic picture and audio.

The Danish release is the one I'm going to get for uniformity's sake. March 16th is the release date.

How about you guys?

New artwork on the Disney website. Looks like they will be numbering the spines of future releases, starting with Dumbo

Eh...but that's lame if (I don't know) Snow White, Bolt, Chicken Little, MTR and Princess and the Frog didn't get them..

The other two will be reissued as Diamonds so whatever.

Hey Luka can you confirm if the DVD is the Big Top Edition or if it's a new special edition since according to the reviewer it's the old DVD.

Or if the DVD has the commentary by John Canemaker.

Thanks.

It's not, it has a different menu and the transfer of the DVD in the COMBO edition is the same (without grain) as the blu-ray.
I don't remember if the DVD has the same extras as the Blu-ray.

argh i hate the new spine for the UK release. the numbers dont appear on any other disney blu's and the little image of dumbo has moved up to the top, snow white and pinocchio etc. have it near the bottom. I'm really nerdy with having thngs look uniform on my shelf haha

I like the numbering idea, but why oh why didn't they think of it when Sleeping Beauty came out??

Exactly. Now it looks as if Dumbo belongs to another collection or something.

Maybe they will pick up on it in about 7 years or so when Sleeping Beauty is reissued as a Diamond Edition?

I can't believe they didn't come up with this years ago with the DVDs, even videos!

I know they've had the numbering on the back of most classics on DVD, but to have it on the spine would surely push people into wanting to complete a collection.
Might inspire people to pick up the likes of Saludos Amigos and The Three Caballeros, amongst other lesser known animated features.
