Homeland Gets Season 2 Renewal from Showtime

Quote:
Showtime has renewed the conspiracy thriller series Homeland starring Claire Danes, Morena Baccarin, Damian Lewis, Diego Klattenhoff, David Harewood and Mandy Patinkin. The renewal was an easy one for the pay cable network with each subsequent episode since the premiere showing an increase in ratings. Having Dexter as a lead-in certainly didn't hurt. Creators Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa of 24 fame can now settle down and plot out where Homeland will head into its second season and possibly beyond.

I haven't watched the show yet but I'll check it out soon as I like most of the shows on Showtime

The show is brilliant and controversial and I cant believe it isnt discussed more. The approach is totally fresh and each character is such a total departure from what u would expect. Cant wait to watch each week.

Really enjoying the show. If I had to come up with something negative about it - Claire Danes seems over the top at times (especially when she uses profanity - her using the f-word makes me laugh).

This is hands-down the best show on TV right now. Nice that something smart came along to fill the void after Breaking Bad left the air.

I was hesitant how long they could prolong the "Is she right? Is he a terrorist? Is she actually insane?" angle but they've certainly answered things enough so far without giving away everything.

I wonder if future seasons will lay to rest this season 1 storyline with Brody and just focus on other high-profile national security issues with Carrie, Saul, etc.

I think Brody will always be a key character. First, there is no guarantee that they will resolve the new plot thread by the end of the season and Brody still fits in that. Also, even if they do resolve it, there is still the possibility of trying to use in relation to Nazir.

I hadn't been watching this, but over the weekend I watched all eight episodes that have aired. I'm loving it so far.

I was hoping to begin watching this over the Holiday weekend, but I had so much other things to do. I have every episode on my computer waiting to be watched though!

I find this surprising as well. For a series that was renewed, the lack of discussion is puzzling. I've never been much of a fan of Claire Danes, but she works well in this role, and the writing is solid. Definitely one of my favourite new dramas this season.

Great, another show I'll likely check out on Blu-ray since it seems to have turned out to be pretty good... I don't get Showtime, but this did sound interesting when I read about it in I think Entertainment Weekly.

Out of the 3 shows I watch on Sunday's -- Dexter, Walking Dead, and Homeland, I probably look forward to watching Homeland the most. Game of Thrones and Dexter are still my top 2 all-time shows, but Homeland is creeping up the ladder, much like Game of Thrones did in its first season.

Yeah this show is amazing in all aspects. And now the direction they're going with Brody being groomed for office it's going to just keep getting more tense.
