From this view, the spine looks like it's the crappy metal cases that Walmart has been using lately.

However the inside view spine doesn't seem like it is. Does it?

Definitely nice artwork though, will have to get a feel for the packaging to see if it warrants a purchase or not.

Looks great! Pre ordered! Metal is metal to me. Long as it looks great and is metal or steel in my collection.

Why didn't they do an ironpack, like Terminator Salvation and Sherlock Holmes?

IronPack is as awful as MetalPak. The only good ones are Steelbook and MetalBox.

I still think that the spine looks to be much thinner than other type of metal cases released. Almost looks like the metal case version of the slim cases that Blu-ray/DVD boxsets use.

There's already a thread in the metalpak forum. Not a steelbook

NICE! I just realized that my UK steelbook order doesn't release until August 19th! This means that I'll be able to go to FutureShop and investigate this strange looking case without fear of not being able to cancel my UK order should I decide to just buy FS release.

Pictures would be much appreciated, if you're able! I'm keeping my order for the "strange looking case"(is this a new packaging nomenclature?) regardless...but it would be nice to see what it looks like, in-hand. Assuming there aren't already in-hand pics floating about.

I'm doing the same thing.

And with Star Trek, I ordered the hero steelbook which is released a week before Future Shop's. So that way I can look at the UK one inside and out, and decide if I'm still interested in getting the other.

I'm probably going to get both... for both movies though.

So I went when the doors opened. I was there to pick up my pre-order, but decided to check out the other ones. I was the only one there examining all of them, there must have been around 30 divided in 3 different locations.

I have a track record of never getting a mint steelbook so I tried to make sure it looked great... 30 minutes later. I went outside to open it and there was a nick at the top right and a scrape on the back.

I've never done this before, but I went back to exchange (that's what everybody seems to do) and went for another... 10 minutes later. I went to customer service. I opened the other one, but it wasn't perfect either. Had all of these ripple dents at the top. I chose the lesser of two evils and stuck with my first. I feel like a jerk because I opened two, but I had to test the odds.

So while I was there spending time to pick the second, I saw a Finding Nemo Viva Metalpak for $29.99, only one left. Decided to buy it anyway. Opened it up and it was in mint shape. Also trade and saved a DVD to get 'The Day After Tomorrow' for $2.99.

The moral of the story is: "You Win Some, You Lose Some".

Yeah, when Hunger Games was $19.99 I picked one and the back had all of these dents like some one was puncturing it with a butterknife. I went to exchange and the person at customer service said I could open some until I'm satisfied. I was like... okay.

There were only three left, we opened one and it was just as bad. One of them you can see the dents underneath the swrinkwrap. The last one was mint, but the spine was a bit off from the case.

Why can't I get mint steelbooks damn it?!
