Directed and co-written by acclaimed horror master Álex de la Iglesia (The Day of the Beast, The Last Circus), 30 Coins takes viewers into a world where nothing is as it seems, and nobody can be trusted.

The eight-episode drama series follows Father Vergara (Eduard Fernández), an exorcist, boxer, and ex-convict who is exiled by the church to be the priest of a remote town in Spain. As his past and old enemies come back to haunt him, strange things begin to happen. An unlikely task force forms as Mayor Paco (Miguel Ángel Silvestre) and local vet Elena (Megan Montaner) seek the truth, while reality is distorted by a cursed coin which is at the heart of a global conspiracy.

30 Coins is co-written by Álex de la Iglesia and Jorge Guerricaechevarría. Executive producers for HBO Europe are Steve Matthews, Miguel Salvat, and Antony Root. Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang are executive producers for Pokeepsie Films. The series was produced with participation from HBO Latin America.

Looks very interesting and even moreso it's a Spanish series. Furthermore, it's nice to see Macarena Gómez on it too (I usually only remember her from "La Que Se Avecina").

All these streaming services are a blessing for actors, actresses and even customers. Gives us variety and options.

I watched the first two episodes, I love Iglesia's films(I am drawn toward his more horror/fantasy films but, love his dark comedies as well), and 30 Coins is as close to a wish realization as possible.
As a fan, I can suggest this wholeheartedly, if you were intrigued by the concepts introduced in Day of the Beast.

Great series, I've always been drawn to good religious horror themes and this one is right there. It almost feel like every episode is a movie on its own but still maintains the continuity of the series.

Finally seen the first two episodes and wow, it was quite an impactful experience. It made me rethink of what we're used to in real life and even the Ouija board that I'd never take seriously (still don't).

Solid show. A must watch.

Absolutely my favorite AdlI film!

I think I'll wait until all 8 episodes are released. I'm stingy when it comes to streaming services, and I'd rather pay $15 for 1 month of HBO Max than $30 for 2!

Finished the first season and found it excellent. For those who have seen "El Pueblo", this series is like that except everything's apocalyptic. lol

Something that kinda bummed me out is that they spoke in a variety of languages (Italian, Arab and Japanese, I think) so I had to enable subtitles in order to watch the show and understand it. I assumed this would be only in Spanish, but no big deal.

Moreover, did anyone else think Paco's actor looks so much like Lucifer's actor?

One last thing, Megan Montaner (Elena) is friggin' gorgeous and being that this is an HBO series they showed her body uncensored (not gonna lie, I was hoping anyway lol).

I've watched the first four episodes on the Spanish Blu-ray (which has English subtitles) and I'm really enjoying the show. The authoring of the episodes could have been a bit better when it comes to video quality, but I'm sure it bests the streaming version and the audio is 24-bit lossless TrueHD 5.1 for every episode, sounding fantastic.
