I saw this movie recently. I don't like the obvious fake world of wrestling but beyond this I must admit I was impressed by Rourke's performance in this movie.

With the exception of the forced trailers (BOOO!) the extras look interesting...

Quote:
Forced Trailers: Wolverine Theatrical Trailer, Slumdog Millionaire, Notorious BD

Within the Ring - A no holds barred one on one with real wrestlers and filmmakers.

Wrestler Round Table - The gritty truth behind the scenes of wrestling with Hall of Fame wrestlers, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Lex Luger and more.

The Wrestler Music Video - Performed by Bruce Springsteen

Fantastic film, I used to be a huge wrestling fan in the early to late 90's and this film is made very well..

Definite pre order for me.

United Kingdom The Wrestler UK Blu PQ!

Bought The Wrestler a few days ago and just getting round to watching it now. I have to say I am very unhappy with the picture quality. The amount of grain in the image (to me it looks no better than watching a VHS tape) is huge. Is anyone having the same problem as me coz some of the reviews I have read state the PQ is quite good!

I'm planning on buying it tomorrow and am very dissapointed with this news. I know people say "it's the way the director intended it to be" but I personally hate grain to an extent it puts me off watching the movie; especially 300.

Grain will always and forever be associated with actual film. To remove it would be ridiculous. The Wrestler was shot inexpensively, and the amount of grain is normal.

I read a review the other day that stated its probably the grainiest BR to date, but of course, it was intended that way.

I don't understand why the director would want grain in a film though, what does it add...

Looks great to me! Love the grain, it was there when they filmed it and I'm glad they've left it all there for us.

If you don't like it don't buy films and stick with video games.

Great disc from Optimum www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=70781

The movie was shot documentary-style in 16mm. That's the way it's supposed to look.

It is meant to have that amount of grain, personally I think it adds to the film

Actually, this is one of the best discs Optumum have put on the market this year, second to probably the Che films/discs.

It was shot on super16mm film. There should be grain visible. As somebody else said, if you don't like grain then you shouldn't watch films.

Got to agree with the majority of people on here, the grain adds to the whole atmosphere of the film. I don't think this film would have the same impact with a clean sharp picture.
