Anyone seen The Wrestler? - Blu-ray Forum

Have heard about it and read about it, and from what I have heard and read it looks like it could be a good movie, It has a pretty good cast, Mickey Rourke, Marrisa Tomei, Evan Rachel Wood.... If anyone has seen it let me know what you thought, it is set to be released on January 17 2009...I think

I never was a fan of wrestling especially the WWF kind... The trailer was interesting though. I'll wait for a friend to rent it

I saw the movie. It was fantastic. Mickey Rourke deserves an Oscar nod for this movie. Think of the original Rocky, but instead of struggling to get on top, Rourke's character is past the prime of his career. If you are not a fan of wrestling you should still enjoy the drama. Rourke's realationship with his daughter, friends, and his other struggles in life. They also portray wrestling truthfully as entertainment and they also show the darkside of drug addictions. If you like the director Darren Arnofsky (sp?) you will like this movie.

I hate that I have two indie theaters within 10 miles of me and neither are showing this film, I have been waiting so long to see it. But we still have Secret Lives of Bees? wtf is this!

Hopefully it comes out next week.

Saw it a couple days ago, was amazing, and I dont care for wrestling at all. Great story and phenomenal characters. Rickey Rourke for best actor 2008!
I have seen Seven Pounds, Benjamin Button, Pride and Glory, TDK and Rickey Rourke takes the cake, can't speak for Penn in Milk though.

I just saw the trailer for this yesterday. Looks like some really strong acting performances. I'll probably wait for it on blu, but definitely want to see it.

this is number one on my list of movies to see which is very long and I've been really slow to get going on it.

I just watched this a couple days ago and I thought it was definitely one of the 3 best films I've seen this year. I have also recently seen Slumdog Millionaire and I think the Wrestler is better.

i finally got to see this and it was worth the wait, WOW what a performance! on par with the dark knight for movie of the year!

I just saw this. It was an awesome movie. As someone who was a big fan of wrestling in the 90's and watching docs. like Beyond the Mat, Wrestling with Shadows, and stories on Tony Atlas and such that focus on wrestling's dark side, this movie really hit the nail on the head.

Mickey Rourke is phenomenal and Marisa Tomei is smokin' hot. The ending of the movie was also just fantastic. This ended being one of my favs. of 08'.

Being a huge Aronofsky fan, I was dying to see this. It is very different from his other movies, but also simply fantastic. He really is one of the best directors of our generation.
