Flixster is now offering a disc-to-digital beta with 5 free credits when you download. They redeem in SD only.
Grab it here: http://desktop.flixster.com/win/FlixsterSetup.exe EDIT: Note that accounts flagged for the free credits seem to be random. It may or may not work for you, but worth a shot! ![]() Last edited by JuryDuty; 02-03-2013 at 09:03 PM. |

This is not working for me at all.
Have put a dozen DVDs in and nothing is even coming up on the screen for me to click to continue. Vudu and Cinemanow work fine so it's not my DVD drive. Says it takes up to 30 seconds to identify discs. Waited a minimum of 2 minutes before I gave up on each. Last edited by RDLee; 02-03-2013 at 07:55 PM. |

I saw the link on the Desktop App a few days ago and went back today and it's gone! Anybody else experiencing this issue with the Flixster Windows App?

I just had a lot of fun- for the most part I really don't have a lot of dvd's left, but I just found someone that has an apartment at the office where I work that had a big book of dvd's. He let me borrow them and I spend twenty minutes entering movies.
I had some Vudu discount credit from eBay, some CN credit from daranman, and 5 free SD credits through flixster. 30 minutes and a dozen movies later, I handed him back his dvds. Used the flixster credits on a two comedies I wasn't tied to seeing in HD. Used CN credit to upgrade my Harry Potter 7.2 and Green Lantern to HD (I think spelling the end of my early adopter curse, everything's in HD that should be, as far as I remember). Anyway, it was a good time. Got to find some more friends with big DVD collections. (Vudu is showing my collection as 551 movie + 24 TV titles though that will include some duplicates). |

I think its still running. I downloaded the program today. I was able to scan some DVDs. Some worked, some didn't. The function is still listed as beta. Sadly though, I was not offered any free conversions, so I didn't actually make a purchase. I merely tested to see if it would accept my discs.

No but I believe you can use Vudu promotional credits (like the ones you can find on some Walmart DVDs/blus) towards it.
