I just hooked this new receiver to my 3D Panasonic HDTV and it sounds great. But since doing this, my cable TV (which is also plugged through HDMI to my receiver) looks bad. It's not 1080 as it was. Looks nearly pixilated, not bad but enough to annoy. The sharpness is gone.
Any ideas? |

have you tried disconnecting the cable box hdmi from the receiver and going straight into the tv to see if it shows with no problem that way? do you have any other sources connected via hdmi to the receiver and if so, do they also show signs of video issues that your cable box is showing? |

i'll give you a quick example. i have a 2010 pre-amp that works fine for everything i own except my new cable box. when i connect my cable box to the pre-amp i get nothing but snow and a random flash of the picture. i found that what i had to do was connect the cable box hdmi directly into my tv and run an optical cable from the cable box into my pre-amp and assign it to what was the spot where cable/sat was on the pre-amp. for me, it's probably because of the cable boxes ability to do 3D (because it always flashes 2D when you turn it on because i have no 3D tv's in the chain when it's doing it's handshaking. i'm sure my old pre-amp takes exception to that. good luck with it, keep us posted. hopefully, it's just something that may need to be adjusted in the settings; worse case, you have to do what i do. |

It came down to interference from the wires. Seems resolved now...
But now oddly my bluray player keeps shutting off and then I can't get sound when it comes back on. This happened twice today. Last time it took me an hour to get the sound back on from the player through the receiver. There's no problem with the cable box sound. Also if anyone feels up to the task of letting me know the correct settings I should have on the bluray player. PCM or Bitstream. Dynamic Sound on/off I have Klipsch 42s for speakers. I need a new subwoofer because my Panasonic sub will not connect to the receiver. It's not a powered one. Once I get the new sub I'm hoping I can finally hear the surround I've been after. |

The receiver somehow caused the death of my Panasonic 3D BTT350.
It stopped working last night and gives me an error code F61 when the power is turned on. A second later the unit shuts off. I had the unit since late 2010. Now I can't enjoy 3D movies, or use my Pandora through the player. (I like to have my plasma HDTV turned off while Pandora plays) My second bluray player is non 3D and non wireless. :/ |

how can you be sure the receiver killed it? ![]() as for the speaker player settings for audio, it depends on which DAC you prefer, the one in your player or the one in the receiver. is the dynmaic sound a feature selection in the player or the receiver & what is it supposed to do for you? try it both on and off and see which you prefer. |

I think it's a feature on the player. Or was.
![]() Well what happened was I had replaced my Panasonic bluray 5.1 speakers with Klipsch speakers. When I bought the receiver, it had its own set of plug-ins for 5.1. So I connected the Klipsch speakers to the new receiver. This left nothing connected to my Panasonic blu'ray player. So I removed the speaker wires from the back of the Panasonic player. I then discovered by doing this, that the Panasonic would not play without speakers connected. I plugged the wires back in, without speakers connected to the wires, it worked again. I was unsure what to do so I left it alone as is. Then there was a spark from the bluray while watching a movie. The player died. Luckily there was enough juice left to open the bluray tray and rescue my movie. So now the player will not turn back on. I have a back up bluray player, but it does not play 3D movies, which I need. So now I must get a better 3D player. ![]() |

![]() ![]() it sounds like the system/player that gave up the ghost wouldn't work without at least having the cables engaged. perhaps there was something on the physical connector ends that when engaged let the system work/play a movie (or something like that) i think you just need to get yourself a new 3D player and your good to go. throw up some pictures at some point; we love pictures here! ![]() |
