Marking the first appearance of a Julia Roberts romantic comedy on Blu-ray, Sony will release a pair of the star's top hits this Fall.

Due in stores on September 30 are the Roberts' blockbuster 'My Best Friend's Wedding,' and her distaff update of 'Dead Poet's Society,' 'Mona Lisa Smile.'

Each stand-alone release will feature a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.

Extras on 'My Best Friend's Wedding' will mirror the previous special edition DVD release, with a trio of featurettes ("On the Set:," "Unveiled," "Wedding Do's & Don'ts"), a "Say a Little Prayer" sing-along, and the "My Best Friend's Wedding Album" still gallery.

There are no announced extras on 'Mona Lisa Smile.'

Suggested list price for each Blu-ray has been set at $28.95 a pop.

I enjoy a lot of Romantic Comedies/dramas, but I own MLS on DVD, and I wasn't very impressed with it, so I doubt I'll be double-dipping.

I haven't seen MBFW in a while, so I might be interested in picking it up in a BOGO or a GOOD sale.

Blu-ray still seems driven primarily by the early adopter male demographic. Hopefully releases like this might get more women interested in the format.

I agree. I think that's their intention. My wife isn't too fond of my blu collection so far (except for a few movies, like P.S. I Love You, Dan In Real Life, Immortal Beloved, etc.). These releases will definitely be welcomed in our household

my guess is it will be the same as Sony released it there as well.

The pre-order for "My Best Friend's Wedding" has been that way since they cancelled the 1st release date.

It's not a new listing. I've had it ordered since they 1st announced it & since they cancelled it you can still pre-order it but no new date has been given.

Here's hoping they put it back on the schedule at some point. If not I'll import it from the U.K.
