Default Grindhouse (2007): Mona Lisa or Titanic?

Grindhouse (2007): a classic or blown try? Did they pull it off or not?

Also: do you like the full film, or seperate films better?

Meh, I hated that boring a$$ movie Death Proof and Planet Terror was actually quite good until Rose McGowin's character hooked up the gun to her leg. I thought it was terribly dumb and was uninterested after that point.

I don't really think you're supposed to put that much thought into it . . .

I think they pulled it off and I hope that we will see more like this in the future. I'm personally hyped about a possible 'Machete' film.

'Death Proof' was the weakest part of the night with even the trailers outdoing it. I get a kick out of going to the video section and seeing a newly released 'Don't' movie. The latest one was 'Don't go in the Woods... Alone!'. Before that was 'Don't go near the Park!'.

As for the Blu-rays, I won't buy it until it is released in one set, trailers complete, scratchs and all, the way it was meant to be seen.

Planet Terror was supposed to have twisted humor throughout it. It was all part of the fictional horror director Robert Rodriguez loves. Another great example is From Dusk Till Dawn. If you take it too seriously you might not enjoy it as much. I thought Planet Terror was an instant classic... the entire concept of Cherry was subliminally unforgettable and original modern cinema at it's best.

+1000000

I totally agree. People just went nuts because Tarantino's name was on this.

I never saw this in theaters so I can't say how I liked that. But considering it bombed financially, at least here in the U.S., I would say it failed and probably won't be attempted again. I also don't think we will ever see them in one set on DVD or Blu-ray. If they were planning that way not do it the first time around? Personally I liked both films, but prefer Planet Terror, even Cherry Darlings gun leg. That was just to much fun. Deathproof seemed to drag on toward the end.

Well Grindhouse never really was released as a single film. Tarentino thought 4 and a half hours wouldn't keep people in their seats. So I think that is why people have seperated the 2 movies in this discussion. No need for a new thread on Death Proof... just really think through your new thread and these things won't happen.

Too many of the "ZOMBIE STRIPPERS: Did you like it or hate it? What did you like better zombies or strippers?" I don't know just sick of keep seeing dumb ass non thought out questions to start a thread just for the sake of startin threads. Sorry end rant!

Death Proof extended cut for me. Heck, listening to anything that Tarantino writes is worth the price of admission alone for me
