Default Individual cases or Boxsets?

Do you guys prefer to own movies that are in a series (ie; Die Hard, Jurassic Park etc) as a boxset or have them as individual cases? Or does it matter at all to you.

Box sets are my preferred option, once you reach 500+ movies, or in my case 1000+, storage becomes an issue. Box sets offer the same movies in a condensed packaging.

I prefer box sets myself, being more compact - and sometimes due to odd titling, seeing as I like to keep my discs strictly alphabetized. Though ultimately I will buy whatever I can get the cheapest.

Individual cases, hands down! I even buy my tv shows per season, even if a complete boxset has been released. Don't know why, but a boxset really bothers me.

I prefer boxsets if they are in a boxset and are fairly cheap. There's some boxsets that take up more room than their individual releases though.

If I want the whole or majority of a series (ex: Alien, Indiana Jones) then I'll go for the box set. But if I only want one or two movies from a series (ex: Die Hard, Jurassic Park) I'll pick them up individually.

Space concerns and packaging can sometimes be a major factor.

Thumbs up Either or,

Whichever is the cheapest.I'm more interested in the movie, not what it is packaged in.

I prefer each film get its own plastic case. I dislike cardboard packaging, like the Bond 50 set or Alien Anthology. Those are nice, pretty sets but it makes getting the discs out a hassle, and in the case of Bond 50 is harder to store/display.

That said I just prefer individual cases, I'm not OCD about it.

Put me down for individual cases. Box sets usually come in crappy packaging, and they look inconsistent on my shelf due to their various size, uneven edges/tops/bottoms, crushed/bent corners, etc. The only box set I really like a lot is The Lord Of The Rings extended edition trilogy. That's it. Even the Star Wars box set is ugly.

If I can get the whole series in one sweep, then I go for the box set. I don't have a problem with them as most of them are not that bad. I do like the plastic blu-ray cases as well.

My OCD wants individual cases for every movie.....my wallet wants box sets.

Since sets are usually cheaper than the individual titles they contain, the wallet wins.

Individual cases every time. I even hate it when there's 2 or more movies in one case, except when it's an extra like HOUSE II: THE SECOND STORY on the first release of AB's HOUSE limited edition dvd

i generally prefer box sets unless i absolutely don't want any of the sequels (i.e. "First Blood," but no "Rambo" movies) or if i only want a couple movies in the series (i.e. "Die Hard" and "Die Hard With a Vengeance")... often times certain movies in a set aren't even available individually. and sometimes i'll buy full sets even if i DON'T particularly want all the movies (i.e. the complete "Star Wars" saga rather than the OT, but that was specifically for features)...

i won't even bother buying individual seasons of TV shows anymore. i much prefer to wait for the inevitable "complete series" set.

Default Individual cases or Boxsets?

Kubrick Box Set (good)
Indiana Jones Box Set (good)
Alien Box Set (good)
LOTR EE box set (good)
Vacation Box Set (bad)
Ghostbusters 1&2 (bad)

All Hitchcock ... Individual

I don't really have a preference .. I rip all my blus to my plex server anyway.

Space saving and price both factor into my decision on this matter.

Only if I truly want a majority or all the films in the set.

Boxset when available. It saves space and sometimes less expensive.
