Get a load of the spammer that just put this crap in my PM box.

Why don't you post this crap out in the open, ace? Don't you even have the guts to post your opinions out in the open?

Lol that is rather the pathetic PM. The funny thing is that in another couple of months when blu-ray is rockin' and rollin' and HD DVD is starting to tank he'll be the biggest Blu-Ray fan boi on the planet and will be talking about how crappy HD DVD is.

I must have written something terribly upsetting to pull that fanboy from out of the netherworld and compel him to register here simply to spam li'l ol' me's PM box.

Facts are pesky things.

Well, at least its not like on other forums where us BD supporters have to PM or email each other because we can't post anything positive about BD without getting a beat down from the admins.

Heh.

I didn't realize this little gem had been given its own thread vs. my "HD-DVD experience" thread.

Welcome aboard to the new folks!

I thought your spam deserved its own thread. Like the title?

That's the thing really, Blu ray started bad ($1000 for a wonky player and Flying Daggers and Fifth Element looking like crap). So people get their minds all set against Blu ray, and decide they'll be a personal unpaid spokesman for Blu Ray hate, and even admins of forums join in. They invest money, time and emotion on this.

But sadly... Blu Ray gets better. By November there's $500 game systems with it built in. 50GB disks, VC-1 and H264 disks. But you can't flip can you? You'd look foolish... Anyone with any sense though could have seen this all coming.

Some of us said "Hey, have a little faith".

From June to November the price of the entry level player has halved, the disk capacity has doubled, and the new codecs have come online, but some guys gotta still act the fool.

Well I've always argued (on the other forums) that I take the long view. What was the better long term investment. Others seem to have A.D.D. and demand instant gratification.

"HD DVD was CHEAPER. The initial titles were BETTER. Therefore HD DVD was ALWAYS going to be this way no matter what."

That was the mantra. Anyone who differed was a Sony shill or simply a fool.

I may offend some here but it seems like the Mac/PC wars. The Wintel PC has industry wide support on both the hardware and software, and is great for what it is. The Mac "addicts" are almost religious in their regard of the platform. HD DVD folks are the same way! Note I think the Mac is a good computer. Personally I prefer Windows, but I won't say Macs are junk. They are not for me, simple as that.
Mac initially started out better, but its proprietary hardware and corporate arrogance made it a niche product. Toshiba is headed down the same path. Their greed in pursuit of royalties has a chance of royally backfiring on them. Come late 2007 I'll bet some of these HD DVD folks are going to look like idiots. It will take me a lot not to remind them of such.

Yes. I cant wait for the SONY to release PS3, even 400 000 and Panasonic to jump in also at the same time. This will be disaster for HD DVD. Countdown started

I think i've been at the forefront of this holding the flag! =)

I know I bought a HDDVD player and all, but I'm still way more down for BluDisc. I'm pretty much staying away from anything "Non Universal" on HDDVD IE; I bought Firewall, FMJ & Training Day on Blu Disc.

The only way i'll buy an HDDVD over Blu Disc if it's available for both is if the Blu Disc version gets a salty review and the HDDVD gets 4+ stars!

This is the thing, people start to support corporations like football teams. Everything company X does sucks, everthing company Y does is great. It doesn't work like that. Companies have good product lines and bad product lines. Any company. Sony, Samsung, Microsoft, Apple, Nintendo, Pioneer, Toshiba, anyone.

But people just get in that mindset. Company X screws up and does something stupid, you defend it. Company Y does something great, you downplay it.

They seem to think a giant corporation like say, Sony, is one guy. It isn't,, it's thousands of people, some of whom are brilliant, some are out of their frigging minds...

And this is the last thing you need on forums. If you want spin, disinformation and other crap like that, you just go straight to the corporations. End users are supposed to be fair minded.

Yeah I was going to make that point myself. A corporation is not one person, it's thousands of people.
