Default Refuge for football haters

Tired of your shows being cancelled by hulking gorillas who can't seem to tell time? (60 minutes is not 3 hours! Your time is up at 7!). Find the same thing over and over boring?

I just can't, because if the live production I switch is cancelled I can sit at my desk and log onto Blu-ray.com. It does make my fellow co-workers boring however.

When I'm elected president, my first non-essential to good running of country act will be a bill outlawing the Heidi rule (they must show the whole game)

The NFL canset their alarm for 6:59, and whoever's winning wins. Then they can do 30 seconds of wrapup (more than enough for the interesting parts) and start the show on time

If I were Bill Gates, I would have bought me a network that shows sports "We're sorry, the rest of the game will not be seen tonight so we can bring you the following quality scripted programming. Complimentary watches have been sent to all NFL officials"

I don't really watch any Network Television except Sports.

Most of the reason I bought an HDTV and DirectTV HD was for the sports in HD.

I have my Harmony 880 remote programmed to either turn on my Panny BD-10a with the TV, or My Direct TV auto-tuned to NESNHD. The first 4 preset favorites are NESN, FSN NE, ESPNHD, ESPN2HD.

I just hope that FSN NE gets a permanent HD channel this year when they launch the new HD programming choices, instead of switching around constantly.

Sorry WickyWoo, I need football. It's my livelyhood as I work at the NFL Network. (Plus I'm a football fanatic!)

Same here.

Sorry WickyWoo, this place is like AVS now. You start a thread titled "Refuge for football haters" and all you get is a whole bunch of us threadcrapping like the red ants like to do on any pro-BD news.

enjoy

I admire the NFL films' camerawork. They're great

So can you call upstairs and inform them that 60 minutes is actually only an hour for me?

4 - 15 minute quarters - governed by timeouts, reviews, clock stopping for whatever reason...

Total gameplay time *IS* 1 hour, unless they go into overtime.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football

"A standard football game consists of four 15-minute (typically 12 minutes in high-school football) quarters, with a half-time intermission after the second quarter. The clock stops after certain plays; therefore, a game can last considerably longer (often more than three hours in real time), and if a game is broadcast on television, TV timeouts are taken at certain intervals of the game to broadcast commercials outside of game action. If an NFL game is tied after four quarters, the teams play an additional period lasting up to 15 minutes. In an NFL overtime game, the first team that scores wins, even if the other team does not get a possession; this is referred to as sudden death. In a regular-season NFL game, if neither team scores in overtime, the game is a tie. In an NFL playoff game, additional overtime periods are played, as needed, to determine a winner. College overtime rules are more complicated and are described in Overtime (sport)."

Sorry Wicky, I likes football!

Hahah, It's not so much the NFL they'll have to answer to, but rather the sponsors that keep us in business!

AGREED! I can't stand football and my whole family loves it. They think football is an extreme sport except every couple of seconds they're taking a break. A more aggressive sport is Hockey because they're constantly moving. But I cannot watch any sports on tv, they are all too boring. I can however watch games in person and be satisfied.
